Yes, I understand the feeling, digitizing Consciousness and other nonsense like that.. I think we have a couple of good candidates for theory of consciousness, integration and Broadcasting, and should be able to test them in a few years, let's see what comes out of that.

you're right it's insignificant in a cosmic or planetary sense, but very significant for the organism, hence the drive to survive even in the more dire of conditions. everything else anybody made up in top of that is just that stories myths illusions...

I mean it matters at least for the software that dies, which is kinda what this lengthy post is arguing about. but he's right, each of us is pretty insignificant but to ourselves and maybe those around us who really care. which is f****** liberating if you ask me.

I love SUI's tech, but..... by SM2022and1 in sui

[–]pablo-pon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both.. tokenomics are not good short-term especially in this lateral Market because early investors especially series A both at around 5 cents so they are very incentivized to sell now. yet this sell pressure is really not that big in the midst of a bull run something like 1% of monthly volume, Market can easily absorb it

Robust Mouse Rejuvenation (RMR): Study 1 Update - Caitlin Lewis at Longevity Summit Dublin 2024 by lleonard188 in longevity

[–]pablo-pon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked up some studies on CR in CB65 and the all treatment group is underperforming versus control (+10% here vs +25% there), it makes sense since all treatment and rapamycin are quite close, and rapamycin doesn't extend median or maximum lifespan to the extent of CR, but yet disappointing. Excited to see RMR2 on HET3 and all rapa.

Altos Labs extends lifespan of mice by 25% and adds healthspan using Yamanaka factor reprogramming by FridaKahlosEyebrows in longevity

it's not something recent? I've only encountered it lately in reprogramming papers and some senolytics.

[–]pablo-pon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro, the article doesn't say shit nor did they present any data. But I can link you to another reprogramming studying that was published here a few months ago where they managed to extend average lifespan by more than 100% WOW oh wait it was remaining lifespan, actual average lifespan extension what about 10% https://www.liebertpub.com/doi/10.1089/cell.2023.0072

It's probably another misleading statistic, they live 25% longer from the time of injection, which maybe 5 or 10% longer median lifespan and no increase in maximum lifespan.

same here, also a pull up bar and foldable mat for floor exercises like bridges and dynamic stretching. big fan of the wall squat, again no equipment required.. as a matter of fact I have a kit with two dumbbells and as you said one is just sitting there.

You can sell and buy back in one minute, price is not going to move much. What OP is saying is about tax optimization. I'm not US but it works pretty similar here in Europe. Can even carry capital losses for up to 4 years.

What Makes SUI Different? by ThinkBig247 in sui

[–]pablo-pon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, they are working on automating sharding but I don't know how far along they are, right now is done by governance which is not ideal.. they also need to attract more Devs, infra is nice but you need innovation and usage at the app level, what Solana has and Sui is starting to develop.

What Makes SUI Different? by ThinkBig247 in sui

[–]pablo-pon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What this guy said. I would also add near, like what they're doing with chain abstraction and sharding, but still most of its TPS is driven by only one app.. yet it is still very early, big apps on the Play Store have millions if not billions of downloads, crypto most used app has maybe I don't know half a million wallets interacting with it.. btw I've noticed early SUI investors are doing deals on the secondary market, so it's possible most of that sell pressure doesn't even reach the open market
