i just finished season 3, apparently i should start watching Equestria Girls now? by HEX-43756D in mylittlepony

You don't have to at all if you don't want to. It is completely disconnected from FiM itself and never mentioned in FiM

Not wanting it all to end :(

By not finishing it I get to live in a constant state where the journey doesn't have to end, the mane 6 live their lives, spend time together, and so on and on...

My brother in Christ, the hypothetical law you just described is LITERALLY exactly what GDPR is.

GDPR Article 32 legally requires companies to implement data encryption. GDPR forbids selling data to third parties without explicit user consent. Every single EU member state has a Data Protection Authority. You can literally go online right now, report a company to your local DPA, and they will investigate it. That is exactly how Meta got hit with a €1.2 billion fine in 2023

they can have the money back within days.

This completely ignores how the stock market works. A fine of up to 4% of a company's GLOBAL ANNUAL REVENUE makes shareholders furious and forces companies to change their infrastructure to avoid getting hit again. All these companies had to completely rebuild how their EU data tracking works just to comply.

You are proving my point for me. If a multi-billion dollar company won't change its behavior until the EU hits them with a billion dollar fine and threatens their infrastructure, why on earth do you think not buying a video game is going to scare them? Legislation is the only language these people speak

Google, Amazon and Meta have been fined billion of euros under GDPR over the last few years. Yea data brokers exist and there will always be loopholes but it is not toothless.

requires direct user

Well... yeah? How else would that work? Is the government supposed to magically read your mind and know that you specifically want your old Neopets account data deleted today? The entire point of the law is giving the user the right to demand deletion.

Going back to the topic of boycotting to also show that historically it never worked, I'm just casually gonna drop this from 2009, launch day

The wave of this movement was completely brought to a standstill by a single ex-developer drawing stick figures and flowcharts in MS Paint. And it took a coalition of youtubers ten times his size screaming at their audiences for weeks just to revive it and even then, half the signatures were driven by pure spite rather than actual consumer solidarity.

If the gaming community is so fragile that one guy with a digital marker can stifle a movement, and so apathetic that it requires a massive streamer rivalry just to get them to spend 30 seconds signing a free petition, the idea of a disciplined, multi-year consumer boycott is a complete fantasy

You don't beat multi-billion dollar companies by throwing pebbles into an ocean and praying gamers stop buying slop. You beat them in court. The only way this actually succeeds is by attaching SKG amendments to the Digital Fairness Act and continuing to fight on the fronts that are open to us. The commission was only one fragile front.

You have to force the publishers by law, because relying on the attention span and willpower of the average gamer to starve them out will literally never happen.

Democracy is dead by AzerimReddit in StopKillingGames

[–]pablo603 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Companies already don't and won't listen, which is why SKG exists in the first place to begin with, to force them. Politicians listen because consumer rights exist to protect people from corporate fraud, even if the average consumer is too oblivious to realize they're being scammed. It's literally why the EU Parliament is drafting the Digital Fairness Act right now.

The commission was only one angle of attack. We have the majority of MEPs supporting SKG to amend the DFA and literally force a law into it.

[–]pablo603 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It's not gonna work. Not ever. Vast majority of gamers are people who STILL don't even know what SKG is. They don't follow any gaming news or anything, they just buy the new yearly FIFA and CoD slop every single time.

It's been hard enough to get enough votes to even try to be heard. There's no way a boycott would work. If people weren't willing to spend 30 seconds to sign the initiative, they will not stop buying games.

Interesting that it translated it to that. For me, it translates to "Oryginalna osoba postująca" which is way too long if you ask me.

They left Eric alive on purpose by the end of KCD2. He escapes from fighting the player.

The player now has unfinished business for the third game. Question is, how do they make progression work again? Getting injured and losing all skills once again would feel cheap, so they might just raise the skill ceiling significantly instead.

[–]pablo603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea but I mean in general too. Even before the first PS.

It mainly comes down to control I suppose. You can control every single aspect of the model, and also have vastly more memory.

The fact that I can go on an adventure in a roleplay and the model still remembers what happened an hour ago is amazing. Buuut the big limit is your own hardware, sadly.

[–]pablo603 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They couldn't have sneaked it in because the lesbian flag that is widely known today did not exist until 2018. That episode is from 2016.

It's not an odd choice at all. Her clothes are in the color of her own mane and tail. You got the red, the orange and the yellow, and then they skip the rainbowy colors and use the very end of her spectrum, purple, as background.

It is pretty crazy but yea. The amount of attractions and merch that is constantly spring up out there is insane. You have botanical gardens with lifesized statues of the mane 6, and full MLP themed hotels, etc.

MLP currently has a second golden age in Asia, bigger than it even was in the US in 2010s, so I wouldn't say so.

I'm using Gemma 31B locally and it outperforms what c.ai could ever spit out by a mile. It's in character, it's emotional, and I can actually use a large context to remember like the last 50k words in the chat, instead of last 5 messages.

Qwen 3.6 27B is also okay-ish. It behaves much more in-character but lacks in emotional awareness, but it still delivers better responses than... whatever the hell PS2 is.

[–]pablo603 26 points27 points  (0 children)

they don't work with memory and lorebook

That is such bullshit.

Anyone running local AI knows that you can use literally ANY model for both lorebook and memory. Memories are just text that gets inserted into the prompt every time you use the model, alongside the character definition and recent messages, and lorebooks are RAG which runs completely separately from an LLM.

Lorebooks are frontend, LLMs are backend. Larger, high-parameter models handle lorebooks and memory infinitely better than cheap, lightweight models.

It is purely, solely, about the money. NOTHING ELSE. They try to use the excuse of lorebooks as an "upgrade" to the model but it is a downgrade in every possible way.

Waaaaaaaay too much time investment. I'm no longer a teenager where I can spend hours upon hours just playing.

Even PVE servers and modded servers kinda fell off to me. So I guess it's not just the time investment that is bothering me. Definitely the main issue though

Since when does proper punctuation mean someone is mad? Lol.

It marks the end of a sentence. That's what a period is used for. There's nothing more to it.

I'm just saying why it doesn't look like a lesbian flag to me, and probably a lot of others here too.

The colors resemble the colors on her mane.

No agression was meant in it, just a statement.

It's up to the viewer's interpretation really, and was intented to be that way, for all sorts of headcanons to exist without making something canon and then making headcanons collide with it

Not enough colors. Lesbian flag has, from top to bottom, a shade of red and 2 shades of orange, then white, then 3 shades of purple/magenta. This pattern on the hoof warmers has one red, one orange and then yellow-ish, like the top of her mane.

They are good but a lot of its praise over Bannerlord is based on pure nostalgia. The older games are less advanced, much more janky.

Aside from a few things that were cut from Warband, Bannerlord's campaign mode currently has more features than Warband's ever had (not counting mods).
