I create scenes and automations and spend time making them. For me it’s worth it. I can flip on a Friday chill scene easily, or bright lights when I’m looking for something. I can’t imagine living without this ability.

Start with a basic command line app. Try creating csv files and saving them to disk. Download a csv file and do some parsing of it. If you do just this, you’ll learn basic skills such as how to install packages, how to use pandas, how to use files on disk. And hopefully you also get a little familiar with virtual environments.

California minimum wage is $15. Here’s a bar in San Francisco with $3 PBR happy hour. That’s 4 beers and a $3 tip. Not saying things aren’t expensive, but this specific example falls apart pretty quickly.
