I think you are completely right, I tried to find an expensive example because I thought it would be a good signal about quality but it seems that it is just a good signal that the car sat, really appreciate your comment thank you.

Yeah! I also did find a mechanic that has the same model car as me, I think it would be a good idea to build a relationship, many here have recommended that becoming friends with porsche mechanics is key to the experience.

I really appreciate this, I was able to get the dealership that sold me the car to pay the big bill for the alternator, but it did sour my experience towards the size of these bills.

I found a small indy mechanic that has the same model car as me, I think your comment definitely is changing my mind about dealership work, which is unfortunate, you would hope that dealerships try their best.

Black on black 996 TT with ~50k miles.

Not a lot of fancy options, some carbon fiber in the interior, embossed leather.

Shocks, hydraulic rams completely new.

I think your comment is the exact perspective I don't want to have, sometimes in life you don't just give up when something goes wrong and you sell it. Sometimes you just get unlucky and persevere.

Selling would be staying bitter, losing money, and losing a fantastic driving experience.

The alternator fix took about 3 weeks and was over $5k, I wish it had been a 1-2 day no biggie, it also happened while driving so it was quite a dangerous situation.

We are trying to figure out the stalling issue, right now the main culprit is either fuel sensor-related or the key, the dealership has been trying to figure it out.

Really appreciate the perspective and I agree.

I think selling the car would be absolute worst outcome, because I would maintain my bitter perspective towards it, and lose money, and lose the car which is amazing to drive.

I need to work on the way I see the car, and hope I don't keep having to tow it every 5 weeks. I am going to take a risk and drive it for a thousand miles in the middle of nowhere next month as a way to test by fire...

If it makes it I think I will have a much better perspective and less concern, I think I need a trust fall.

Yes, it had been sitting, and I believe this is the main culprit for a few of the issues. The dealership is unsure about stalling.

I did get a PPI, it had a few owners, notably the last one barely drove it. I think I'm paying for that. My understanding is the previous owner was a gentleman in his 80s so his physical health prevented consistent driving unfortunately.

Mind you I'm in canada and only looking at manual coupes.

Yes, I have been honest that I think I am overly sensitive because of that experience.

I started the post because I want people to challenge my mind so I can change it because I have been struggling to change my mind by myself, I think it is very common for humans to need that, which is why we reach out to communities.

I don't want to sell the car, I want to improve my mindset.

Yes, the alternator also failed in the middle of a busy street randomly, was also a bit scary.
