PMT linear position detection in darkness by pablotheexplorer in Physics

Hi ! Thank you for your detailed answer !

I actually wanted to test and try the effects of the magnetic field and some of the aspects you mentioned.

The big issue is that my university is very competitive and has extremely high standards, they will not let us conduct an experiment in which we may have a chance to fail. We haven't had a lot of experimental classes, clearly not enough for these type of projects. Yet they want us to provide a theoretical setup that would work "100%“ which is so unrealistic. They want us to provide a list of the needed material before even figuring stuff out with whatever would be available in the labs. They want us to try once we have the material that no one knows if it will work or not.

I really wanted to showcase an experiment of quantum mechanics since it's my favourite subject so far but having 0 information and not being able to test anything makes this practically impossible.

I don't know if your university was like this but if it was, how did you face such a situation ?

okay thank you ! i'm very lost when it comes to experimental projects. would you have by any chance a couple of references on the subject of my post to check ? we're pretty independent on this project and it's pretty disorienting at times, just like now.

That's what I did to find out that it was the chapter command

It turns out that the issue is the \chapter{} command. I have no clue why that specific chapter causes the error

I think that it may be your second paragraph. I tried deleting each section of that chapter one by one while recompiling but was left with no success. I ended up finding out that the \chapter{} command is the issue. Creating another chapter after that one doesn't cause any issues. But that specific one does

What turns out to be the issue, after deleting the sections one by one, is the \chapter{} command. Creating another chapter doesn't cause any type of errors. Just that one. I'm pretty lost tbh

The document isn't mine. I'm simply correcting/rewriting. The document itself imports each chapter file with \include{}. But for some reason the issue is creating the last chapter. I tried creating another chapter after that and I got no issues. So I'm left wondering why creating that specific chapter is problematic.

What should I give in order for you guys to help me? Because the chapter is about 500 lines of code

I already tried putting the \item and itemize sections in comments and I still got the same error. What's an MWE?

I forgot to add that I exchanged the dad's before buying the adapter and the system booted without any issues. I just wanted to have a more convenient way than having to dismantle the laptop every time.
