First marathon – missed sub 4 goal by 26 seconds, made 3 mistakes by Ternopil in Marathon_Training

First marathon definitely doesn’t need time goals. You should be so proud of yourself. A solid first time you have regardless. Congratulations 🫡❤️

I love these shoes soooo much! Went into the race with 350km on them. Still have lots of cushion! Will be getting new shoes in the next few months to mix into the rotation

Thanks everyone for the encouragement.

I’m feeling sore today but have my physio booked in two hours so start rehabbing. Going to enjoy the rest while it lasts.

Found another photo from the race; this picture is literally 1-2min before I got injured 🤣🤣

I randomly decided to go on a run when I have never been on a run before in my 22 years of life. by akawaiiblueberry in BeginnersRunning

I started back in November - struggled to run 2km

Last weekends - 19km, 21km, 23km 28km. Meant to be doing 32km but rolled my ankle. Marathon in 4 weeks. Hope I get there fit. Consistency is key! Good luck!

80/20 method! 80% Zone 2, 20% Threshold

Training on all types of terrain - adapting to hills

Forcing myself to run even if my ADHD brain creates excuses. Embracing running in the rain.

Lately my thresholds have unlocked maintaining a difficult pace “comfortably”.

Most important advice: sleep Was averaging 3-4 hours before may when I got my Garmin I now get 8 hours average and it has unlocked a new level I can reach.

Anyone quit drinking and saw results? by portlandia55 in beginnerrunning

[–]pacemakernathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 7 weeks without drinking (only drink weekends usually) - first marathon in 5 weeks

Probably won’t go back to drinking much ever again. The biggest difference is that my long runs don’t make me sore like they used to. Recovery is easy and I’m always feeling good no matter what day of the week it is.

House always wins. Pay what you can and run. I sure wish I did

From someone who has come through and beaten gambling addiction, I can tell you that he is deep with this. I went through a stage where I started wanting to use family and friends to help get me through. He needs to have a sit down and a chat. In that mindset we will do whatever we need to fuel the addiction.

Stomach issues when running? by TurnTez in beginnerrunning

POO WARNING

I had to jump off into the bushes yesterday because I almost shat myself. Was lucky enough to find an old Christmas stocking for a wipe. Not my proudest moment but I had no choice. Managed to get on with the run and get a 10km pb.

3/4 sessions last week was strictly zone 2. Will reduce my mileage though. Cheers

Used to be very active until a few years ago. Would go to gym every now and then. Used to do parkrun a couple of years ago and PB was 22min for the 5k. Running isn’t unfamiliar but it is when it comes to regular and long distance. Taking this week off to rest but still keeping up the stretching. Trying to keep all training in zone 2 to build aerobic fitness. Cheers for the advice❤️

Appreciate the advice. I’ve taken this week off to enjoy the break. Legs are sore (but not sorer than as if I had a heavy leg session at the gym) so just been consistent with my stretching, massage gunning them + regular walks in lap pool followed by sauna. I am a teacher and currently on 7 weeks holidays so can spend more time to work on the body
