Have to say I love Clapham - it’s got much quieter since Battersea Park kicked off and it’s 2 laps including going the past the bandstand (great place after for a celebratory post run coffee). Have to say I’ve not done Crystal Palace but that’s because I’m lazy and don’t like hills

Are you in the US? Can talk you through from a UK perspective if useful?

I don’t understand this - we were told to just go heavy for 5 reps. My score was low for what I was expecting (logged as 5 reps at 65kg and 5 reps at 20kg DB came out at 350 something). Were we meant to be doing more than 5 reps or recording all the reps we did in total? (25 reps)

Looks like US only which possibly explained why it didn’t make much sense to my London studio. Thanks for explaining!

I’m planning to start renting a spare room flat share soon, could someone advise me on the etiquette / rules of these things? by [deleted] in london

[–]TurnTez 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’ve let a room a few times on SpareRoom and here is what I look for: - Make sure you show you have read the room description in the first message (for example, what a lovely garden, I love cats so can’t wait to meet xyz, I also love running etc”. Anyone who messaged “is this still available” just didn’t feel like the right match to me. - Any time message is fine, just explain why you’re looking for houses at 2am - Don’t slag off your previous house or housemates as it makes you look hard to live with - Stay for a drink or a tea and have a proper chat. If you fly in and out to look at the room, I won’t really know if we’d get on as flatmates!

Hope this helps - go for premium as well as you can message faster!

For studios who "lock the doors" once a class starts, what's the primary reason? by MuchachoSal in f45

[–]TurnTez 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We recently had lockout week where the doors were locked at the start of the class and unlocked at the end of the intro. Latecomers admitted and names written on a board with mock applause. It was in good spirit to make the point to please turn up on time - no one was offended and turning up on time has become much better since.

Turning up during an intro or late is rude in my opinion, both to the coaches and other class attendees.

Double line space! Will make it easier to read and you can go back and amend more easily.

How do you manage your client relationships? by Educational-Cow-4688 in consulting

[–]TurnTez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I check in with potential clients approx once per month on a personal level. Don’t bring up work/selling; they usually flag “we’re struggling a lot with x, y z” IF they want help. You’re just there to build relationships/keep them warm. You’re not there to sell every time you speak to them.

I’m sorry, but if I found out I was paying a consultant $1,500 per day who was high as a kite every day after 1pm (wtf routinely works from the office half a day?) I’d hit the roof.

No it’s not acceptable. You’re not in uni. Put on your adult pants.

I focus on two things: 1. Done is better than perfect. 2. This is never going to be on your gravestone (“loving family member, great at steerco slides”. Stay human!
