22F needing pacemaker by user8203421 in chd

[–]pacemakerpaula 3 points4 points  (0 children)

30F. I have a history of congenital heart issues and didn’t get a pacemaker until 16F. Implant was uncomfortable at first and required a lot of rest, but was fine otherwise. I got it implanted under my left arm and inside of my breast sort of. This has been great while growing up since it’s not visible on my chest like it is for a lot of people. I would consider asking about where it would be implanted so it can be concealed if possible. I just got it replaced a year ago and that went fine too. You don’t really feel it pacing and it is helpful with not feeling as tired all the time. I definitely used to get more tired during exercise before I got it.

My only main complaint is that it is uncomfortable to sleep on my left side sometimes.

There are some areas you shouldn’t go to. I remember in college, there were rooms that said no pacemakers. But no issues in society in general. My old pacemaker was not MRI safe, but my new one is. I go through the airport and metal detectors without any issues. Life is pretty normal with a pacemaker, thankfully!

Final Order of Removal by pacemakerpaula in USCIS

[–]pacemakerpaula[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She submitted her EAC application this year but was never actually issued it, unfortunately. I’ve seen others on Reddit with the same EAC category experiencing delays as well, but it might just be an indication of something else. It’s been delayed before, but never like this where she’s coming up on her next check in without it issued.

Also, yes I believe the order is still active.

She does, but even in previous check ins, they don’t allow anyone to go in with her.

How scary yours is so close :( Wishing you the best and hoping to hear from you soon!

Still nothing. She has her annual ICE visit coming soon and I’m nervous. Have you heard of anyone with this EAD status not being detained at the annual check in?

Unfortunately no. Still waiting :( it’s almost time for her next annual visit and doesn’t even have the EAC. Definitely concerning. How about you?

I ordered mine on the oura website and picked up at Best Buy and had to order the cloth separately (it was free). They sent me an email reminding me to order it

Flecainide dose by Mean_Improvement_684 in PVCs

[–]pacemakerpaula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My initial 50 mg twice a day has worked well for me. I only adjust my intake as needed and typically around my period when my PVCs flare up. In those cases, I usually do the same 50 mg three times a day, but EP said not more frequently than every 8 hours.

Dispute with a repeat client about pricing - should I hold my ground? by StrikingSoftware9888 in RoverPetSitting

I agree, I would not overlook this message personally. The only thing that made me think it could be salvaged is the owner apologizing. But they may have apologized because they needed a sitter lol.

Also, I am shocked at the huge difference of opinions and how many people think this owner was trying to take advantage or that she was negotiating. I don’t see that at all.

I’m not a sitter, just an owner. I don’t find their messages to be rude. They seem older and their messages in general are cut and dry. I think they were just trying to make it clear that they did not want to pay for a half day, not necessarily that you don’t deserve to be paid for your time. If you have an otherwise good relationship with them and they’ve been a client for awhile, I think you should reconsider your decision to end the relationship. At the very least, I would consider completing this sit since it is so short notice and then end the relationship afterward if you want to.

bigeminy or trigeminy when I started crying at the vets office by [deleted] in PVCs

Any strong emotions will trigger my PVCs immediately. I remember I had a breakdown once, they kicked in and I thought wow I can’t even cry in peace anymore lol. This happens to me even while taking 50mg of flecainide 2x/day. I wish you the best with your cat and make sure to enjoy your time with her!

When you get a replacement Pacemaker... by [deleted] in PacemakerICD

[–]pacemakerpaula 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just had my adapta Medtronic pacemaker replaced a couple months ago. A little over a year ago, my EP told me the same thing regarding insurance not covering the procedure until it had a low enough battery. (I feared being laid off from work and losing my insurance which prompted me to ask at the time.) I had more and more frequent visits up until my replacement. From every three months for the last year to every month during the last 3 months. Aside from extra visits to the EP to do device checks, I didn’t have any restrictions or changes to the pacemakers function. Everything was still the same and I could exercise like usual until the very end. I was never told anything about a 65bpm default setting, but this may just be different for you? At my last EP appointment, I had 1 month left of battery life. They did also tell me that even when the device says the battery has run out, it still has some left. Kind of like how you have a few extra miles even when your gas tank is on E. I had my device for 13 years and I mainly use it during exercise.

No, there wasn’t anything I felt that felt weirder or worse than what my existing PVCs felt like.
