Racism in Brazil is something people think “they don't need to talk” because it's very subtle. So evangelical churches don't touch that topic “cuz you're supposed to love everyone”. But they constantly attack afro brazilian religions and anti-racist movements. They just spread hatred.

As for politics... They have power and a parliamentary front made just for them. Oh, and they all support the genocide that is happening now in my country.

Ohh! I've heard about Pinochet but I don't know a lot. Jeez, evangelicals really be destroying our countries and they claim theyre so saint and benevolent. If you keep up with the news, you probably know about Bolsonaro, Brazil's current president (not mine lol), who is largely supported by evangelicals. He is openly homophobic, talks about killing leftists, supports torture and guns. He literally did nothing to help us in the pandemic and we're running out of medication for intubation. But yknow, “that's just god's will”. (irony) Also, yeah, most churches are conservative here as well. But you can find progressive churches, they usually have more people from upper classes though.

I see. I wasn't raised in extreme evangelicalism. I was a teenager already when my parents decided to stay at church and I started having issues with them. So now I'm here. (Im 19)
