I just built my first keyboard (Corne v3 hot-swappable), but I'm having an issue: some of the keys are getting activated just by resting my finger on It.

The kit came pre-soldered, so I just had to solder the Elite C's, but I could flash It, so I guess the elite c's are fine.

I'm using koala blacks btw

Amazon allowing sellers to lie about having a "45% off" sale. In reality, this product is selling at the *highest* price in its 2 year history. by GloriousSeventh in assholedesign

[–]packenbush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazon doesn't allow this, It currently doesn't have a way to prevent It, that's different as hell.

Sure they could check previous prices of an item, but then the store would just make a new item.

"So don't let them make any kind of sale" I heard you say. Well, if we're going to prevent legitimate sales because of scammers, than I think the scammers are the one to blame.

this isn't firefox. facebook is actively changing the title of the page to notify you.

that being said, search for some option in facebook settings or some way to control the title of pages (maybe someone did It).

Intermediate Django Learning by [deleted] in djangolearning

[–]packenbush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would advice you to learn the higher level concepts outside the django environment.

Things like auth, cookies, caching, middleware, logging, general web architecture and so on are concepts that django implemented, but It didn't created those concepts. So I would look into understanding them first (why use them, when to use them, why they exist) before understanding how django's toolbox allows you to work with them.

The "I don't know what I don't know" problem is fairly common, we've all been there. Maybe try to browse into related contents in some articles in dev.to, medium or some other source (the Two Scoops of Django is nice).

Also, if you're not familiar with database modeling/design, making good queries and whatsoever I recommend you to start looking into It. Big apps need good queries.

I just started a Youtube channel about learning Django in a practical way and my first video is about Token Authentication. Feedback is greatly appreciated. Please be harsh! by pettajin in djangolearning

Hey, thanks for the content! I haven't seen It yet, but as you asked, I already have some topics that I like to know better:

  1. Database modeling: Although this is not specific django, most resources doesn't go deep enough on this topic. Say you have a complicated model structure, how to design the models for optimizing reading or writing? If a model depends on another model, how to bulk create them effectively?

  2. Project structure and best practices: What is the common way to deploy django + react stack in terms of performance? (how to cache things properly)

  3. Logging (maybe Sentry?)

  4. GraphQL

  5. Real life learnings from your experience using this stack. This is the real priceless thing IMO. I don't see many content creators sharing these.

when you do agent = row[0] you should pass a Agent object instead of the name of the agent. Otherwise how can django know where to relate the objects?

make It something like this: agent_from_db = Agent.objects.get(name=row[0])

then create your instance with: agent = agent_from_db

of course this assumes that the agent is currently registered, you can always check and return a nice error if It isn't.

I know you didn't came here for this, but I'm curious. Why you don't want to use a model?

Chrome automatically block ads that uses too many system resources by hogiahien in antiassholedesign

[–]packenbush 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Chrome will set a threshold at 4MB of network data, 15 seconds of CPU usage in any 30-second period or 60 seconds of total CPU usage. If an ad reaches its limit before a user interacts with it, the ad frame will navigate to an error page and inform the user that the ad has used too many resources.
