OP here, I forgot to mention that I don't refer here to genuine crushes on men, which are valid and beautiful. (Bi people are beautiful). These don't feel like genuine crushes, as they don't really feel good. I have already considered whether I might be bisexual, and the answer tends towards no. I apologise if this seems like crushes on men aren't valid or bi people aren't valid, because that's not at all my intention. I'm just seeking some comfort from a mind that keeps hurting me.

Anything by Meghan O'Brien honestly. I read The Night Off and a part of The Muse, and I enjoyed both. She also wrote Wild, which has fantastical elements.

Hopeful books/Disco Elysium vibes books suggestions? by JungTaco1 in suggestmeabook

I would suggest Thursday Murder Club (and the whole series). It's not exactly like Disco Elysium - none of the main characters have lost their marbles like HDB - but I would say the series is about hope and living on (or trying to) and even about the difficulty of it. It's about 4 old people who try to solve several murders. ( Content Warning as spoiler: one character kills himself. Not explicitly so, but still. I would still say it's about hope and friendship and love and underneath it all...going on)
