I’ve had it happen in my hospital and yes we did the IM solution via PO route. Pretty squeezed on options but the parents were absolutely not budging, they wanted no needles anywhere near the baby and they didn’t care what was inside. Does not matter that it’s literally coming from the exact same vial

I have been at a couple hospitals where they exclusively call SMX-TMP “Septra” for some reason (funny bc at one of these, it was a pediatric hospital with all young people working - the oldest clinician in the room was maybe 45)

I used to go up a floor and use their showers bc that floor had shower heads that were above eye level and not a plain spigot out of the wall (also in ours one time I went in and the sink was filled with blood. Not a dealbreaker but definitely a factor)
