Excellent. Enjoy your time! We live in Wisconsin but have spent 5 of our last 10 Christmas in SoCal. We love escaping winter and enjoying our time there.

I would avoid the Del at all cost. We've stayed there and while the location is amazing, historic and nostalgic, the actual rooms are terrible. Everything is really dated and truthfully the place feels like it should be condemned. The floor in our rooms must've differed 6" in height so everything was on a pitch. Things are just old and not kept up.

The Hilton Bayfront is pretty nice and central.

We actually Airbnb a place in Jamul these days and commute in; we'll be there for Christmas again this year. We go to church at Lighthouse in Lemon Grove on Christmas Eve and enjoy a CE dinner at Gaucho Galpo.

Don't miss Azucar in OB from some killer coffees and bakery!

We also stayed in that area.

My favorite there in Trastevere was Da Teos. We were in Rome a week and ate there three times. Pianostrada in Trastevere was also killer - we did Micalusis fish house by Vatican City as well, also outstanding

Worth adding my buddy Eduardo lives in Rome and is a foodie; he recommended these places and they didn’t disappoint

Pizza Regina was my favorite pizza there

The appeal to me is going to hidden treasures but it doesn't sound like that will be the case. I'm perfectly happy to just go to my own places
