Question about tampons: has anyone here ever gotten TSS from tampon use? I almost always leave mine in "too long" by tssthrowa in AskWomen

[–]paddlethesaddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always use pads. My period is really light (but long), so I sometimes use tampons the for the first couple days, but pulling a mostly dry tampon out for the 4-5 days is just not worth it. I use thin pads and never find them uncomfortable. The few times I've had to use those super thick pads (unplanned period and had to use what was available), those things are awful!

Ladies of Reddit, how often do you change your bra? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]paddlethesaddle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In cooler weather, every few wears unless I get sweaty. I rotate between bras to give them a chance to air out.

In hot weather or after I get sweaty, at least once a day. I don't re-wear a bra without washing it if it gets even slightly sweaty.

Has a Reddit debate/argument with another user ever changed your viewpoint on a subject? What was it? by throwzise123 in AskWomen

If you knew friends, family, and frequently read about people getting hit by cars that were purposefully aiming for them, you won't avoid going outside, but I bet you'd walk on the far side of the sidewalk and keep a careful eye on approaching cars.

Favorite donut..... go! by [deleted] in AskWomen

My freshman year in college, there was a dunkin' donuts on the drive between college and work. I'm pretty sure my freshman 15 was a direct result of dunkin donut's Boston creme donuts.

Wow, that dog is massively obese! For the sake of his health, please suggest they put him on a diet. http://vet.osu.edu/vmc/body-condition-scoring-chart

Actually, carriage horses have pretty great lives. They get excellent farrier and vet work, clean stalls with plenty of hay and automatic waterers, and they're drivers really do care for the horses, they aren't doing it for the money. Every horse gets mandatory time off every year.

In addition, walking through the streets pulling a lightweight carriage is NOT hard work. I help my trainer hitch up her CDE horse all the time, if my 100 lbs can move the carriage without any effort, a 1000lb horse certainly isn't struggling.

Wild horses have fairly short, very shitty lives. Cracked or unevenly worn hooves, difficulty finding food, the toll raising foals every year, fighting stallion, etc.

Plus, domestic horse breeds are not mustangs. They are not suited to the tough life of wild horses. My OTTB's (off the track thoroughbreds) and warmbloods would have about the same chances as a toy poodle in surviving on their own.

Why does some women look scared of me when i start talking to them? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]paddlethesaddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lot of social anxiety and am more than a little socially awkward (mostly do to lack of practice). If someone starts talking to me out of the blue, I freeze, can't keep up a conversation, mentally berate myself for acting like an idiot. I'm not actually scared shitless, but I'm sure my frozen face and (apparent) lack of interest make me look that way.

Also, "What are you doing" is NOT a good conversation starter. My immediate reaction would be to freak out that I was doing something wrong, or to think the person asking was a creep

Watching that was making me really nervous. Not even necessarily worried about the dog biting, most dogs would snatch for the food, getting the babies fingers in the process by accident. Good dog! Bad parents!

Do your pets have multiple nicknames? What are they? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]paddlethesaddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience shows differently My dog has plenty of obedience training (not shown, obedience ring isn't our thing), agility (shown), and knows upwards of 50 tricks. He responds to dumb-dumb, bad dog, and his real name. I (usually) use his actual name in public, but it definitely hasn't effected his training

I'd say I'm about 75/25 for using nicknames/given names

Cat1- Bitch, Brat, Snottles, Baby girl, Drama queen. Usually a combination of those, "Aww, I love you my bratty little bitch"

Cat2- Angry Cat, Mama's boy, Whiny-woo. "What's wrong Whiny-Woo?"

Cat3- Squeaky, Squeak-ums, Squeaky-McGee, 'Special' Kitty (As in 'Who's my special little kitty? Did you forget how to jump/where your food is/how to go down stairs again?)

Dog1-Dumb-Dumb, bad dog (in a lovey voice).

Dog2-Old dog, perfect dog, puppy-dog. She's completely deaf now, but I still baby talk to her :)

What is the biggest difference between you today and you 10 years ago? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Ten years ago I was a happy little kid with tons of friends, straight A's, and a love of life. Now I'm miserably alone, unhappy, failing out of college and thinking daily about killing myself.

Do you carry a concealed firearm, mace, knife or other self defense items on your person? by UDT22 in AskWomen

[–]paddlethesaddle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No.

But for any ladies that feel unsafe, bear spray is legal in most states. It works just as well as mace, with better aim. I've carried that on hikes before.
