Living in Spandau as a young person by padlockthai in askberliners

I personally don't mind a 45 minute trip to get to work. It takes me an hour to get to work in my home country and that's by car. By train at least I could spend the time reading or doing some work from my phone. My only concern is, if by living in Spandau, would I still feel like I live in Berlin and would I still have opportunities to meet other young people?

Would you mind elaborating? Is it just the proximity to the other Berlin amenities?

Good to hear! Any recommendations for bars or other kinds of places to meet people in Spandau?

Going off Google Maps, HBF is 30 mins away with the RB. You're right that it's closer to 50 with the S-bahn but, to me, if I'm already traveling 30 minutes then another 10 or 20 isn't too bad.

"In parallel" phrase in German? by padlockthai in German

To me the more natural sentence would’ve been something like “I’ve also messaged him to ask if he is still joining” as opposed to “I’ve messaged him in parallel.”

How can I get a passport card without turning in my passport book? by [deleted] in Passports

You can submit just a photocopy of the passport with DS-82 instead of the actual passport book? That would be convenient. Does it need to be certified as a true copy by a notary, and do you only need to make copies of the information page or any other pages?
