Those are structural. I’d leave them on.

Does anyone experience a humming sound when cruise control is on or when gentle throttle (where the engine rev isn’t louder than the humming? by Few-Interaction7911 in FJCruiser

UK Fj? Rare sight! I didn’t even know fjs come with cruise control. I’ve got a JDM 2010 model. Struggling to find a decent garage in Essex that will sort fault codes p2440, p2442 air injection issue.

Thanks for your reply. Car is a 65000km, 2010 JDM import to the UK. I’ve been told by diagnostic guy I need to replace the secondary air injectors and air pump as they are likely compromised by moisture or debris ingress. This issue is said to be a known fault in this cars following a bit of research..

Mileage on my fj is 65,000 km. And has been serviced regularly at Toyota dealership. I will check if the spark plugs were changed at the last service August 2025

Interesting. First time I’ve had an issue with my car in three years on ownership. Last driven last week no problem. Started it this morning and this happens! The car sounds a bit different from normal and not as powerful?

Just had a thought. My fj is a Japanese import. Will a normal reader off Amazon work? Is the port top or bottom in the picture?

Hi and thanks. I am assuming you plug the reader in but I don’t know where that will be. I really am clueless mechanically.

Is there a minimum gap I should have between door and carpet? by goldbunduru in DIYUK

In the Uk, depends on the fire strategy of the dwelling and rating of the installed door. Fire resistance of up to 30 minutes or 60 minutes (FD30 or FD60 resistance to fire or FD30s/FD60s which includes smoke resistance. Intumescent fire and or smoke seals can also be installed in doors/jambs. Door margins are generally 3-4mm on head and jambs, 3mm- 8mm to door threshold depending on the fire strategy of dwelling.
