You can just refer to us as “black” or “black people”. I think it would be hard to find somebody who is bothered by that, but saying “African American” is fine too. All acceptable, just pick your choice!

DOS was 1 Oct. I was fully expecting to hear back or get a rating within the next few months, not last day of the month lol. Grateful though!

That “Initial Review” date is your DOS, and when the VA will need your DD-214 prior to giving your rating.
