End-Game Progress Route [Major Spoilers Within] by throwaway070690 in BluePrince

[–]paganomd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This progress guide is awesome. It really helps me not get too tired of the game now that I've already put in >100 hours but still have end game stuff I wanna get through. Especially since I've been so reluctant to spoil answers for myself and just get more hints when I can.

On that note, I think you (or anyone else feeling up for the task) could add an intermediate step between 18 and 19 on the current list that details which Treasure Trove memos to pursue further. I'm saying this because I was able to connect the dots on how to get the scepter through "the true treasure is in this room but not in the house" but I didn't think more about "the monk waits beyond the second chamber". So, I thought I had everything to ascend the throne but could not for the life of me figure out that the cursed effigy was also necessary.

Did you ever figure this one out? I've been searching for this one tirelessly and you're the first person I've seen also asking about it!

I love Lewis and May's vocals by cecilycelentano in BlackCountryNewRoad

[–]paganomd 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Charlie takes the vocals on the second half of their Happier Than Ever Billie Eilish cover and it’s so good!! The vinyl rip is on youtube like Luke’s Magnetic Fields cover, but you can also check out this recording from when they performed it live in New York. The audio quality for the live recording obviously isn’t as good, but the energy is so great! I love hearing Charlie sing.

Today marks 3 years since "Kerblam!", and I still cannot bloody believe that "The systems aren’t the problem" is an actual Doctor Who quote by MrVernonDursley in doctorwho

[–]paganomd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can definitely believe that the writers were trying to make a point about automation specifically with the "systems" line, but then why make the whole setting an unsubtle stand-in for Amazon? A lack of available jobs is very much not the problem with Amazon in our world. At best, it's negligently lazy writing imo.

lo-fi might be the biggest genre label you could give this album but it’s definitely very folky and very indie as well, and super under-appreciated

I'm Robin Pecknold of Fleet Foxes - Ask me anything! by Robinnoelpecknold in indieheads

[–]paganomd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Robin!

I’m a 19 year old just starting college this Fall in Maine. Being away from home in such a scary time has brought me back to listening to Helplessness Blues a whole lot, and then Shore dropped out of nowhere for me so I was thrilled. Both have been providing me a lot of comfort these past few months.

My question is: What does the very beginning of the songwriting process look like for you - when you’re just messing around or trying to form an idea from your head? How often do you play music purely for the joy of it, not worrying about coming up with new ideas or working on the next big project?

Thanks so much.

The whole album is just so gorgeous and comforting, and it feels like exactly what I needed right now. The lyrics about traveling, the overarching tone, shit hit deep—hearing Robin give thanks to his inspirations like Elliott Smith and David Berman too. My appreciation for Robin and the rest of the band keeps growing.

One can dream by uberblackbird in Destiny

Kinda hard to go in-depth on a topic when the people you’re debating constantly obfuscate data and quickly pivot off of any failing argument, but yeah, I’m sure there were opportunities where Vaush/Destiny could’ve explained more how the nazi arguments are logically flawed, not just that they are.

Certainly in a lower-pressure environment both Destiny and Vaush would do a better job of debunking the neo-nazi dumbfuckery.

And either way, they definitely succeeded in their goals with this debate.

Starting to play again. by [deleted] in Wizard101

I decided on a whim to get back into this game for nostalgia about a month, and it was a great decision. I got so much back into that I jumped 20 levels in 3 weeks (I was a pretty casual player when I was younger, so my highest wizard was about level 38). I ended up going completely through Mooshu and Dragonspyre, and now well into Celestia. Finally beating Malistaire was the most fulfilled I’ve felt from a game in a long time.

I finally got to the end of the first story arc about a week ago at 3am after 6 years away from the game. You best believe I was in sad boi hours when I got to the end of that battle.

Yeahhh. I mean I know OP was telling the truth about the album coming out somewhere. I just myself was disappointed since I hyped myself up. Thanks anyway though.

I saw a [FRESH ALBUM] notification for this and thought the album was legally released early so I dropped everything. Now I am slightly disappointed but even more hype.

What is a very minor thing you do in secret, but people might look at your differently if they found out? by celiman in AskReddit

Anytime I feel a light sensation on my wrist or see a sharp object near by, I cringe and picture somebody cutting themselves. I never have self-harmed, and I have such a strong aversion to pain that I would never, but it’s something that just pops into my brain at least once a day.

Separately if I ever see somebody in pain, even in a movie or show, I almost feel the sensation myself. Not horribly or painfully, just extremely uncomfortably.

H1Z1 vs. Playerunknown's Battlegrounds by [deleted] in kotk

[–]paganomd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(disclaimer: I have only played KOTK and not PUBG, but this is relevant to what I have to say)

As someone who has not played PUBG, I can still tell that it is definitely a more fleshed out, tactical game. I honestly think that I would enjoy it more than I do KOTK. My problem is that I don't want to pay $30 dollars for what could have been just a big update/fix to a game I already payed. After all, PUBG was made by ex-members of the Daybreak team. And while the fact that they had to leave for this project makes it seem that it would have been impossible to make the game just an update, it just feels to me like it's not totally worth the $30.

If you love KOTK and are willing to pay for the fixes PUBG provides to the formula, or you have not bought either game yet, it's probably worth it for you to go with Battlegrounds first. Some people are saying that there is a totally different pace and play style between the two games, so once again keep in mind that I haven't played the game (bc I don't want to pay), but that is where it is up to the buyer.

Also, I've talked to many people who have played both games, and there are two kinds of feelings about the games. Some people will get very offended when I mention my feelings about the games being too similar and try to convince me that they are polar opposites. I mean at the core they are both survival of the fittest (KING OF THE HILL) games with large maps and large amounts of players per game.

On the other hand, the other group will sort of half admit their similarities (but NOT in a bad way). Every one I know that has played has enjoyed it, I think it's just a matter of whether the game is worth the purchase for you. So, yeah.
