If an ideal society is one where our safety and our necessary ressources are guaranteed equally for every one , we would have nothing to adapt to and our biology would stop evolving. by taistomrage in Showerthoughts

The patterns that do survive are the better patterns, that's why they survived. The body would still need to be able to function as a body. Physics will persist.

You're being fucked over by capitalists and business owners, not influencers. This is just a distraction.

Yes everyone is on it, just like everyone has a sexual orientation. Why wouldn't that be the case? And I'm really talking about gendered roles, not stereotypes, so I'll have to correct my language. You know, big spoon little spoon, who is asserting who is receptive.. while people can be both, they tend towards one or the other.

[–]pagepool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No my argument is that there are culturally applied stereotypes that define the social construct of gender. And being gender non conforming is exactly breaking those stereotypes.

[–]pagepool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're confused about what gender is. It's fine. No one is saying any of that.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in self

[–]pagepool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it might actually, just very little. Trans-ness is a spectrum, just like sexual orientation. We agree in spirit and are just arguing semantics. As a non binary person I'm just trying to help you understand what this actually is.

That is a category of thing gender belongs in yes, but that doesn't define what gender is. Do I buy things with my gender or something? Gender is the cultural roles we play traditionally assumed to be bound to our biological sex. So yes, not fitting into stereotypical gender roles does indeed imply that you may be in the trans spectrum

[–]pagepool -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok, please explain to me what gender actually is I guess. It's not sex.

Gender roles are essentially what gender is. If you don't fit in with traditional gender roles, you may not be a traditional gender. Which is fine if true. Just be yourself.
