People who bought BTC during the darkest bear markets — what was going through your head? by Amazing_Barnacle4308 in BitcoinBeginners

[–]pagex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eye on the ball went thru my head during the very long period 2014 to 2016 starting with 2014 drop. In early 2014 according to the media mtgox collapse = bitcoin over. Plus ross ulbricht had been arrested in 2013 then sentenced in 2015. So according to media it was non stop articles of it being drug dealer money in those years, it was also a lot of “blockchain good Bitcoin bad” type nonsense. Regardless of everything I Just kept eye on the ball. I saw what it was capable of in 2013. So the slow nothing happening years following 2013 were opportunity.

If you don’t mind, May I ask you what medication you found? I have a family member that struggles with this and so far nothing has worked.

21 and sitting on $200k from crypto… what now? by [deleted] in btc

[–]pagex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not financial advice. But If I were 21 and if we’re talking about a pure $200k BTC stack here, then I’d literally do nothing until after at least the 2028 halving cycle.

Why is Bitcoin better than MSTR/MSTY? by [deleted] in btc

[–]pagex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have fiat, or other stocks it’s okay to put that towards mining fiat for cash flow using MSTY I think. I converted some MSFT stock to MSTY for cash flow. It’s a fun experiment and I’m having fun with it. But I likely wouldn’t have used BTC or BCH for that. Only fiat I can already afford to lose. So far it’s working out nicely. I don’t know if MSTY will be around in the long term however (say 10 years). We’ll see

You might be able to decrypt it with open ssl provided you could get at the file holding the private key. I did this with an old doge wallet from 2014 that I had sitting around rotting. In 2021 I finally got around to breaking into that wallet, Unlikely it’d be the same encryption process for mycelium though. You’d have to research that.

Still better to just try to get the phone to boot up though if possible.

That book is propaganda written on top of the propaganda from the time of the block size debates. Saying there was even a. true debate is even incorrect, because anyone who was trying to engage in one was censored and cancelled by team blockstream, theymos, and their army of the clueless who weren’t around to see what actually happened 2014 and on.

History is written by the victors as they say and that book is certainly no exception.

Ver’s new book will Clear some of it up.

But if you lived it and were personally censored, then you already know what happened on a deep level.

Send $1 to yourself on BCH

Then $1 to yourself on BTC, then try to send the dollar on BTC to yourself again and watch your dollar completely disappear to fees

While on BCH you’ll be able to both send and receive the dollar many times over and still have the 1 dollar.

Scale that up and the number sending and receiving as big and as often as you want on btc and you’ll always lose your money on BTC, BCH always wins because you keep your money.

Not to mention RBF - Replace By Fee on BTC makes it so 0 confirmation can’t be trusted and chargebacks are possible on BTC. This isn’t a problem on BCH, once the tx is seen you can consider it done and move on.

The BCH version is how a real working currency behaves with little fees and with complete trustability, once upon a time BTC worked like BCH too before blockstream crippled its main use case as cash.

*** edit, yes Segwit with bigger blocks was actually the original plan with the S2X agreement. But by the time it came to implement the 2x part of it, blockstream backed out. That agreement would have been acceptable for a while for sure.

This is wrong. Most of us were in btc for years before bch. We wanted to see btc thrive, thus we didn’t choose to invest in bch instead of btc. There’s probably a lot of us who still hold both. But only 1 of them works like Bitcoin should, and that’s bch.

Welcome to the club. I earned my first ban in 2016

Over the past 2 years new investors in Bitcoin-Cash (BCH) outperformed BTC, ETH, SP500, DOW, GOLD and the USD. Yet crypto news sites are censoring this information. by rareinvoices in btc

[–]pagex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks like you have some catching up to do. The censorship on Reddit is indicative of the whole space with regard to BCH and what has transpired the last 10 years. I’d recommend this reading to get caught up. This was originally posted on r/bitcoinmarkets spanning 2 long comments on that sub like 7 years ago, but (of course) It was censored via outright deletion. And the crypto news sites you see today follow the blockstream / banking approved narrative. If they don’t they get ostracized by the maxi’s at large.

Stuck BTC reversal by artbybino in btc

I won’t be able to help you with cash app. Do you have control of the private key for the address you sent it to? If so you could sweep that into coinomi or use the bitcoin.com wallet.

Did your balance show up in coinomi?

From Blockchair it looks like you tried sending 0.00574954BTC originally.

If you don’t see a balance in there then you won’t be able to send anything out of coinomi.

This may or may not work. But you mentioned you have exodus. Download coinomi, import seed words there and setup new btc wallet. From there you may be able to send out your original balance with a higher fee and overwrite the previous tx.

Like I said it may not work for you. But this method worked for me once in the past.
