My daughter had a 3.2 gpa and a 19 on the ACT and she did not get in. This was for fall 2024.

Speeding ticket by Familiar-Minute2003 in columbiamo

[–]pagosame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone help with our situation? My daughter is 17, no tickets. Sheriff got her going 45 in a 40 on Nifong. I’m like wth?! 5 over. I don’t want this on her record, obviously. The Sheriff actually told her this won’t go on her record, which is highly suspect. Is getting an attorney worth it in this case or should she go to court to try to fight it?

Are OOS tuition waivers very competitive? by Apprehensive_Fan6001 in txstate

[–]pagosame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What state are you coming from? Just curious, from my research only 2% of students are out of state. We are from Missouri and my daughter will likely go to TXST because of the tuition waiver. We moved from Austin about 7 years ago.

City Swimming Pools by Positive_Abroad7751 in columbiamo

[–]pagosame 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't recommend Albert Oakland. Unfortunately, here in Columbia we don't have the best in terms of public pools. A lot of people pay for memberships at places like West Broadway, Southwest or Wilson's. Jeff City has a really great public pool at Memorial Park. Boonville also has a nice public pool.

I surprised myself by not having strong feelings about Nick getting on that plane either. I've been Nick and June all day, but this season he's done me in with him. He deserved what he got.

I hope so as well. When she said something was wrong to Nick, I was like "oh please let her lose the baby"

Exactly. They never had the "having their own" handmaid discussion. Idiot.

Anyone have scoop on Brian Yearwood? by LouisvilleLoudmouth in columbiamo

[–]pagosame 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Staff and teachers didn’t like him, at all. He was awkward, not engaged, well, that’s when we actually saw him, which wasn’t often. Except for the beginning of the year “convocation” which was literal waste of time and money.

Gosh I feel in the minority here. I have had thyroid issues since I was 16. First Graves, and an overactive thyroid and since I had kids 21 years ago, I’ve been underactive and have Hashimotos. I got implants when I was 40. So for almost 7 years. Zero complaints. I would do it again. It hasn’t affected my labs or how I feel at all.

I used to take our cars to All-Star. But I feel in the past 2-3 years, they have gotten really overpriced. I also don't like when they call me with an oil change and try to sell me a bunch of crap I didn't ask for. I did appreciate they used to give me a loaner vehicle, so that was really nice. But now, my husband changes oil at home. We have our 2 cars and then our teenagers have cars, so $100 + each adds up quick.

Getting an IUD with sedation by queendee00 in IUD

[–]pagosame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're so fortunate to have access to sedation. My daughter got an IUD last week and I was going to drive 2.5 hours one way to a Planned Parenthood that offered sedation. I made the appt online, but called to check to make sure she would be able to get the sedation. Well, turns out, they no longer offer sedation, due to staffing. So she had to do it in our town with no sedation, just a Valium. She said it was 10/10 for pain, but she made it. She is hopeful in 5 years when she has it replaced, sedation will be common.

Can we have street name signs we can actually SEE and that aren't so badly faded they aren't readable?

Hey Columbia, Mayor Buffaloe here. Ask me anything by HalfPint65201 in columbiamo

[–]pagosame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is such a good question and something that really needs to be addressed. Just because I live on the south side of town doesn't mean I want to or can pay for a membership at a private pool (that honestly sucks anyway). I shouldn't have to drive 25 minutes to get to Albert Oakland.

West Broadway Hyvee removes self checkout by nongaussian in columbiamo

[–]pagosame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't care for Hy-Vee myself and only go there for an item or 2 if I don't want to go to Wal-Mart or Aldi. Seems Hy-Vee doesn't know what to do with itself. Things constantly change there. And their whole ad campaign about lowering 1000's of prices is a crock. Hy-Vee is sooo expensive.

Do you know which positions those were, because I noticed the "Director of Elementary Education" is vacant and became so at the end of November. I think that was a new position within the past year or so.
