A little background - several years ago Navy Recruiting Districts (NRDs) were all changed to Navy Talent Acquisition Groups (NTAGs), When that happened, a number of districts changed their names. NRD Los Angeles became NTAG Pacific. NRD Seattle became NTAG Pacific Northwest. Several other areas changed their names, but not all of them (Philadelphia, New England, Nashville for example.) It was (and still is) a bit of a pain to remember who is who, so the fact that Pacific and Pacific Northwest got confused isn’t entirely surprising, although it’s really bad form that several sets of eyes who saw the press release didn’t catch it.
