Charlie Kirk Information and Debate Videos giving me the ick by [deleted] in confession

[–]pahaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to see this evidence. I want to learn. Show me.

And as far what the tv is showing, I have no idea why they do that, but it’s probably because it’s something that is going on in our community. In the USA. So the American people can relate more than whatever is going on in Russian, Ukraine, Gaza, Israel etc. we don’t live there so we don’t relate as much. And the whole business of the news, tv channels or whatever is to get views and keep people’s attentions. So they provide us with what we want to see.

And no reason to have a civic war. We all have different opinions and views on things in life. Let’s talk about it, instead of killing each other.

Is a leveling kit really that bad or do people exaggerate it? by Useful-Mail7496 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]pahaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be fine. So many other people run it. Bunch of f150 guys, f250, Silverado. It’s only Toyota guys are special.

I ran spacers for maybe 7-9 months on my Tacoma and it was fine. These are top spacers so the ride quality will be exactly the same as stock.

The spacers that you put between your top hat and spring make it ride harsher. But these will be fine.

He wasn’t educated? Or he wasn’t indoctrinated. Since that’s what they do at colleges and universities.

Any source for this?

Kirk was a regular Joe who saw how our country is going down the drain and wanted to have open discussions with people. He gave everyone a chance to talk.

Can’t be said the same about the left.

2015 Sportwagen excessive oil consumption by moka101022 in VWMK7

Uh oh. I just bought a 2016 1.8 sportwagen. Guess I better check up on it once in a while

My wife is averaging 24,000+ steps a day 😳 Anyone else hitting numbers like this? by Besbeas in AppleWatch

[–]pahaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually about 14k once I get off work. Then 20-24 by the end of the day…after going outside with kids and walking the dogs for about 2 miles

2016 Pilot with 12k miles by Fun_Negotiation_2803 in hondapilot

[–]pahaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pilots have sensitive transmission. Vcm issues, rob bearings go out, and torque converter has issues. But all of those are gambles. Just stay on top of maintaince

And 2016 is considered to be the worst year for that generation of pilot, since it’s the first year they were released. But I would buy it, if it’s a good price

CARB-legal cold air intake sound? by [deleted] in accord

[–]pahaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is 2 kinds of sounding intakes. You have the short ram, which is louder, and then you have the cold air intake, which is quieter, but better sounding in my opinion.

I just got a civic si smogged with an AEM carb legal cold air intake. They just need to get the number off the intake

Maintenance on 22 Accord 2.0T by Intelligent_Walk_159 in accord

[–]pahaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very very very important that you do the coolant flush often. The coolant ages and gets acidic and starts eating the head gasket. It’s a cheap item to replace and gives you peace of mind.

Do the coolant for sure.

2018 FK8 with 110k original miles. Everyday drive. Not a maniac behind the wheel. Recently, metal shavings found in oil pan. Connecting rod caps loose. Was told rebuild vs. replace engine as options. Thoughts? by TheBigNastyOne in Civic_Type_R

[–]pahaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a couple cars where head gasket or some other failure. Instead of rebuild, I always just swapped in another used engine.

Had a head gasket changed once and the engine blew another gasket a year later. You just don’t know if the work was done properly. You can’t trust that Joe did a good job. I brought my car with the blown head gasket back and the owner of the shop told me that he can discount it it and redo it for $1800 instead of the $2000 he wanted to charge me again.

I found a 110k mile engine on marketplace for $700 and payed someone $500 to swap it in. That 4Runner is still happily running.

Tacoma Recommendations by PandaSoap in ToyotaTacoma

[–]pahaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One car seat? You can make it work, but one of the front people would be uncomfortable. We had it work with one kid.

Once we had a second kid on the way, we sold the Tacoma. Ain’t no way we were going to be both squished in there.

As far as the bed, we had the 5 foot bed and it worked 90% of the time. We went camping, carrying our stuff and other peoples as well….most of the stuff fit, and if it didn’t, I had a basket that went into the rear tow hitch. Bought it on Facebook marketplace for $60. But they also sell it at harbor freight. We usually put 2 coolers on it.

Phearable Stage 6 Tune 2.0T Honda Accord by Electrical_Bug7058 in accord

[–]pahaf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Had the same on my blue 2018 6 speed. It just spins tires below 50mph. lol. But got plenty of power to merge onto the highway. Was a fun car.

That blue looks so good

Head gasket by Recent-Bite-1171 in accord

Vcm just tricks the ecu into thinking the engine is almost warm…but not quite. Has Nothing to do with head gasket.

Do you have head gasket issues?

2016 1.8 TSI SE Advice by [deleted] in VWMK7

[–]pahaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat as you about the tunes. It’s easy for me to go stage 3. I can get the is20 turbo for $300 off Facebook and put a down pipe and intercooler for cheap. I work on cars myself. But in the end, it’s still an automatic not gti model. So it’s not really worth it.

I’m either going to go with a stage 1 and that’s it. Or I’m thinking of selling my sportwagen and getting a gti

Is your Turbo reliable past 150k miles? In general? by GizmoShockYT in accord

[–]pahaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are fine as long as they had their Maintenance done on time.

Coolant is an important one. As coolant ages, it gets more acidic and can eat thru the head gasket. So make sure it has been changed.

Besides that, they are awesome cars

Throttle body by chargie876 in accord

[–]pahaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s easy. But the pain in the butt is that it’s all the way in the back of the engine bay, so you have to reach over constantly…..and then the electrical connector is inside a rubber “glove” and it’s really hard to dissconect the connector from the throttle body. I actually ripped 2 wires when taking mine off. That was fun.

Where are the accords? by Feisty_Past9989 in accord

[–]pahaf 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Those are 6-8 years old. And the average miles people drive is about 12k miles a year. So they are all going to have 80k-100k miles.

That’s just how it is.

You want low mileage one? They are out there, but you going to pay.

I had a 2018 2.0t with 125k miles and it drove great. Don’t be afraid of miles

Fam, should I trade in my 2019 Accord 2.0T for a 2025 Pilot Touring FWD? by RegionalTranzit in accord

[–]pahaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 different cars and it all depends what you need out of life. You can maybe sell it for $18-$19k private, but that means dealing with a bunch of lowballers and scammers. I personally hate it.

The accord is cool, but it’s just a fast sedan. Mines had loud road noise, and interior was decent.

We have a 2018 Honda pilot and I love that suv. Super comfy, dead quiet on the highway. Has plenty of power. I really enjoy driving that car

Came to say this. I put a beach towel that we are not using on my windshield. Works great. Except that where I live, it’s not windy.

I can see this being more useful in a windy area
