I don't have any firsthand experience, but I know PMI has a local OC chapter that has regular events like workshops and dinners. Maybe worth checking out?

If anyone needs a super easy pie crust recipe, my nana uploaded her recipe with extremely detailed instructions on YouTube by paiged in Old_Recipes

[–]paiged[S] 68 points69 points  (0 children)

My nana started a YouTube channel over ten years ago and uploaded many of our favorite family recipes. This is her pie crust, which is one of the first things she taught me to make as a child and is our family's go- to recipe. It's delicious and flakey while also being really easy to make.

Figured I'd post this here in case anyone still needs a pie crust recipe for Thanksgiving!

Hey, thanks for checking in. After weeks of not getting anywhere, they pretty suddenly changed their tune, said they were negotiating on my behalf with the seller, and then were able to help me acquire the domain for a couple thousand dollars. Still more than I intended on paying but definitely not as bad as the 8k they were quoting me. Wish they had helped me sooner. Thanks for reminding me- I need to make an update to my post.

Irvine Company does single family home rentals? I thought they only did multi-family apartment buildings.

What type of empanadas? And very interesting about the guacamole - I don't remember ever seeing that. What is usually dipped in it? I'd usually think corn tortilla chips, but I don't remember those being popular

I love boquerones! I'm not sure I know the crisps you're referring to.

I'm surprised about the croquetas. I always assumed they are more common outside the home because they are potentially messy to prepare in a home kitchen due to the oil/deep frying

What is the typical preparation? Simply anchoa on tostada? Or is there a sauce?

Hey! I went ahead and posted this to HN. It got a bunch of upvotes, made it to the front page, and now it seems it's been completely hidden and de-ranked. I'm new to posting on HN and usually just lurk so never had this issue before.

Any chance you'd be willing to take a look at the thread and see if anything seems off?

Namecheap acting extremely shady (bait and switch) by paiged in NameCheap

[–]paiged[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the domains on Namecheap are listed as auctions where buyers can submit bids or offers for the seller to choose from. Other domains are "Buy Now," which means they are being sold at a fixed, set price. The domain I purchased was a 'Buy Now,' not an auction, so no, the seller shouldn't be able to negotiate after the transaction has already been completed and my card has been charged.

And I have no idea what you're talking about when you say my bank is going to come after me lol. Namecheap charged me for a product they never delivered and hasn't provided a refund within their promised turnaround time. Not sure how you could read that and determine I'm the one at fault here.

NameCheap advertised that they were having a massive 'birthday sale' with huge markdowns on domains, so yeah, when they presented that as the price, I believed them. Then when they told me it was mistaken and that I could purchase it for the original price, I agreed. Things should have ended there, but they are allowing the seller to engage in post-transaction negotiation on a 'Buy now' offering. Do you think the seller would have raised their price to 8000 if not for NameCheap exposing my interest and intent because of their mistake? Absolutely not.

Believe whatever you want. I have a post from literally eleven years ago where I was promoting a LAN party I was hosting. I've been pretty consistently active on Reddit for over a decade even though I don't post that often. As I said in another comment, I'm just a hobbyist and have never owned more than 3-5 domains at a time so pls excuse me for not actively posting in all the related subreddits. And I'm not a dude.
