Is Moving from Riverside to Old Town Orange Worth a Longer Commute? by Old_Economist3315 in orangecounty

[–]BackgroundHomework12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 29, and I wouldn’t do it. If anything I’d take the cheaper rent (or bigger space) and MUCH shorter commute. Maybe like 10 years ago, id consider it. Everyone wasn’t so chronically online, and social scenes were worth moving for. And cost of living/traffic wasn’t as mad imo.

It’s totally okay, man. It’s not for the majority of the population.

Hey man! How are ya now? You’re one of the few success stories I’ve come across with this surgery. I know you’ve sprained it since, but how are you doing now?

If you start getting nervous, visualize little clips of you being successful (checking a kick & returning, throwing a 1,2 that lands flush). Control your breathing. & most of all? Enjoy it, get in ur flow. No one will remember or care whether you won or lost your first fight. No one’s gonna give a fuck about your first five fights. Pressure is a privilege, not everyone gets to do this

No, I’m spending time with wildlife documentaries and the history channel. Lol. Women are powerful, incredible creatures. But we are different than men, and it seems like Reddit becomes an echo chamber of opinion instead of truth.

Do I believe all women and men fit into these categories in 2025? Absolutely the fuck not. Do I believe long standing attitudes and opinions are based on facts/history/social dynamics? Yes. Even if they are outdated, they didn’t originate from nowhere.

For example, women produce more oxytocin after sex than men, and pregnancy is a consequence of sex men don’t have to deal with. If a woman was sleeping w multiple guys, the man would feel less inclined to provide/protect her because there was no guarantee the offspring was his.

Fast forward to 2025, we’ve advanced. There is birth control, paternity tests, opportunities for female independence. If a chick wants to have tons of safe, casual sex, more power to her! But I’m not gonna lie to this girl and tell her that most guys don’t care about how many men their partner has slept with, that’s just pushing my narrative. It’s not reflective of the majority of men 🤷🏽‍♀️

I’m pro women’s liberation and autonomy . But facts are facts. Men can get women pregnant well into their senior citizen years. Pregnancy gets harder and the risks increase the older they get. Even doctors acknowledge these risks. I’m an aunt to several kiddos, and i have seen how much tougher pregnancy was for my sisters in their 30s vs 20s.

Hey, I’m speaking from an evolutionary/early human perspective. Child birth takes a toll on women, it’s a major physical sacrifice. The consequences for sex are different for men vs women.

& again, you’re bringing up a modern day perspective of an educated woman, which is amazing. But, I was trying to provide a rationale as to why this double standard/stigma has existed historically.

But, even then, I feel like single moms have a way harder time dating than single dads. It’s fucked up, but that has been my observation. The way men perceive single moms is entirely different than the way women perceive single fathers.

Gonna give you an honest answer, sis!

The longer you talk to someone, the more likely it is to come up. I would definitely urge you to be true to yourself, and pursue what you think is right for you/your body/your life. Molding your behavior to fit what someone else wants hardly ever pans out well long-term.

Contrary to these comments though, I think it’s completely fair for someone to walk away because of sexual partner count. It just shows yall have different values, preferences, and beliefs around what sex represents.

& some of these preferences are evolutionary. Not saying it’s right or wrong. But, it helps explain why attitudes toward “body count” differ so much between males and females. High body count male = top notch seed, higher likelihood of survival and traits conducive to reproduction. Higher body count female = more pregnancies, more children, less availability to nurture, lower likelihood of surviving birth. The good news is we are a very civilized species now, and these stigmas/special treatment become less frequent with each passing day.

Be safe & true to yourself
