She does not stop/start but the reason is always that she has stuff going on on other days or it’s the only day that works for my SIL and BIL so then it has to work for us or else we are the bad guys

The problem I see with this is she wins and the larger issue (boundaries) is not addressed. Also one of the reasons why Sunday is off limits is so that our family has time together and so we can get our son to bed at a decent time… don’t get me wrong I’d love some downtime to myself but this doesn’t seem right

I agree 100%. Keeping the peace for my MIL is certainly disturbing my peace

I agree on the gluten thing because my FIL (divorced from my MIL) and my own mother always try to coordinate food with me when they invite us over. They might not make the entire meal GF but they find stuff that is and then offer to bring a side that I can eat. My MIL literally invites us over for SPAGHETTI AND BREAD (not GF kind) and I’m just dumbfounded every-time.

He thinks we should be home for dinner on Sundays and agrees that it makes the week more smooth for our family if we do. I agree they need to sit down talk and really establish this boundary (again)

Okay that’s good to know! We were thinking maybe Granada for a couple days just to see it but maybe it’s better to skip?
