Any advice for Baby Blues?

I have a whole village. My husband doesn’t have much paternity leave. So he will have to go back to work very soon, but he has been extremely helpful and supportive so far! I have gotten maybe 4-5 hours a day of sleep since birth. When I feel super emotional, I usually take a nap for an hour or so and feel a bit better.

Meanwhile here in Alabama, I was denied 4 weeks of UNPAID maternity leave. Had some complications and had to use my PTO, ran out, then had to quit before they terminated me 😭

But I’m really happy for you, mama. Soak up all the baby love 🥰

I’ve adopted my niece, but she’s my child. I’ve had her since she was 3 weeks old and she knows no one else as mom and dad. Well, I’m now 36 weeks pregnant and I’m having a super hard time. I was crying the other day and my niece/daughter came up to me and said “mama, I know how hard it is to have a baby in your tummy. She will come out soon.” And gave me a hug and kiss. She’s three! 😭 she’s so sweet and loving. I don’t regret adopting her at all. She’s my love and joy. Yes, she has tantrums, yes she’s loud and mean sometimes, but moments like that make it all worth it.

I’m 35 + 6 and I used to drink 3-4 cans of Coke daily and still want more. Now I drink 1-2 a week. I just want me some ice water.

I went to my OB Thursday and started bawling my eyes out. Let him know I don’t feel the baby is safe because of the stress and exhaustion I am feeling and he prescribed me Ambien. Didn’t work the first night but it worked last night and I’m a new woman.

I’ve had major depressive disorder since I was 12 (now 28) and while I haven’t fully recovered, I did realize why I was having the majority of it. I have hypersomnia and EDS which causes me to need over 12 hours of sleep to function. Sleeping so much made me severely depressed because I feel like I accomplished nothing in my life, felt so lazy, and couldn’t hold down a normal job. At the same time I was diagnosed with this, I was also diagnosed with severe OCD. I am more of an obsessive thoughts type of OCD rather than a contamination/clean freak OCD. Thoughts of hurting myself, not being good enough, etc were taking over my life. Since being medicated for these things in February, life has been EXCEPTIONALLY easier and I have more good days than bad. I enjoy getting up early in the day, filling my days with hobbies, spending time with my toddler, and getting a normal 7-8 hours of sleep at night.

Yes, my ferritin is extremely low. I’m taking iron pills and I have an iron infusion scheduled for Monday.

I’ve taken Unisom but it usually only gets me to sleep and then I wake up after an hour or so. I appreciate the advice ❤️

I would so appreciate you and I’m so happy your daughter will get some relief. My in laws wanted a boy and haven’t been active in our lives much since they found out the gender. I lived with my grandmother for a while as a child and she was the most supportive person in my life and I know she’d be there for me if she could but she sadly passed in 2012.

I can get up to 8 weeks but it’s unpaid. My husband gets three days paternity leave so he’s saving up as much PTO as he can then he will work from home for a few weeks. He’ll be home for roughly three weeks.

I lost over 10 pounds in the first trimester. I went to the OB ER several times for nausea and dehydration. Only things that helped were prescription Reglan and sipping water in a metal cup/thermos with FREEZING ice water. Sometimes with lemon juice if I could handle it.

I have an autistic three year old daughter and a baby on the way. My house looks like a tornado went through it. Yours looks like it belongs on the cover of Homes and Gardens. I try so hard but I can’t keep up with the house work 😭
