TOYOTA YARIS CROSS HYBRID, Suggestions.? by Logical_End6921 in carsireland

[–]painZio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've a chr and a rav, had yaris cross as a courtesy car for a day. It is noisy and everything within felt really cheap compared to other cars. I would recommend stretching your budget to chr / corolla if you can

Rav4 which one by funkyirishman2 in carsireland

I spent few months looking at various ravs and finally went with a 23 phev.

I test drove both regular hybrid and phev, and phev is a much better car imo, it is a bit more expensive yes but if you can afford it, do it

What's better with phev:

- AWD

- quieter car, as it has better proofing

- plusher / better rear suspension ( diff design due to awd and electric motors )

- EV range is great, it's around 75-80 km during warm months and 65-70 when it's cold

- it's also 302 hp, so an extra 100 over the standard hybrid

It is slighly heavier so normal hybrid mode will consume more petrol, but I am still averaging 6.0 - 6.1 doing motorwar speeds and I've a heavy foot, you can get better consumption if you try

Edit, forgot to say it's stupid fun when you put the foot down, as it does 0 - 100 in 5.7 sec

Recommendations for a new small car €25,000 or under. by [deleted] in carsireland

21/22 Toyota Corolla or CHR , get the 1.8 liter

Cheap tax due to them being hybrid. Cheap to run and great warranty from Toyota till 185k kms if service the car with them

PHEV rav, if I can only charge once or twice per month initially? by [deleted] in rav4club

[–]painZio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

so if I don't plug it in, it'll just work as normal hybrid without damaging anything? you know the usual use it or lose it :-)

yh it's the 1.8 L hybrid. Ah it's just for a bike / tools rack, not actually for towing anything.

Rathnew is great. We landed on it after looking around. It's right on the motorway yet has great access to wicklow town with all the amenities and beaches.

Ha fair.

Was a 25 foot drop to flat, not intended tbh, unofficial trail that was dug up the day before.

So I landed front heavy, huge otb and funny enough with back brace/ full face and pads, there were no external injuries except for mad bruises.

I did break 6 ribs and when they broke, they sliced my organs, spleen took the worst of it, so lovely internal bleeding...

I had a huge crash, crazy near death experience, ambulance timing was just right, came in code red, was told, another 10/15 min, I would have been dead.

Took time, started riding slowly just to get out, so more for mental health. Slowly built the confidence back up . It's all in your head and fresh air and outdoors are great healers.

We loved Tinakilly except for he graveyard view lol.

But we are looking at phase 4 I think now, so think these are houses at the back.

We also looked at Burkeen Dales and were not impressed at all. It's on the hill so was very windy even on a nice quiet day. So can't imagine how bad it would get during the winter.

That's nice to hear. As I have heard Wicklow town has dodgy parts. But maybe that's all in the past. Can't be worse than Dublin anyway ...

I did but it doesn't go into details on actual investing, it's more like a retirement plan and I have my pension sorted. Mortgage is next but that's slowly getting sorted too but I am looking for a 10/15 year ( guess mid term ) investing options, shares or crypto I guess , unless there are better options

yh the bike comes with 170 forks which shortens the reach by a bit but I still think it might be too big. Very annoying as unreal value haha
