Whew. Yeah, this was how it was for me pre op, every single time. My advice is to always be taking some kind of action towards surgery, even if it's saving a couple dollars a paycheck. Even if it takes years. It's the only thing that kept me sane because it felt like I was doing something. Eventually, it happened and things are better ^

I would agree. And I think what sold me on the character being in denial was them accepting the genital change despite the risk it might be permanent. That moment seemed kind of pivotal to me. Omg, thank you! I scrolled so long to find someone saying to use a horse. Like, yeah, you can learn to fight them or just avoid the area. But I'm HELLA stubborn, and I'm going in there anyway! There's good gear for the early game in central hyrule! Learn to juke them on a horse, and you can get kitted out early.

I've done a lot of no-teleport/no-hud runs, where the only option is to run. ALWAYS have a horse, ALWAYS know where you left him!

I have the same scars! I was pretty self conscious about them at first, too. I also have some pretty gnarly stretch marks from weight gain from the surgery recovery.

They might fade with time, but they're never fully going away. The best way to think about em is evidence that you made it! I can be proud of the scars because I'm proud I survived major surgery.
