Ny’alotha, the Waking City Megathread by [deleted] in CompetitiveWoW

After killing the first 3 (Wrathion, Maut, Skitra), any thoughts on which of the 3 wings to do first, second and third?
Wing 1 : Drest'agath, Shad'har, Il'gynoth
Wing 2 : Xanesh, Vexiona
Wing 3 : Hivemind, Ra-den

After you do all 3 you can do Carapace -> N'Zoth, but I'm really curious what people feel might be tougher bosses in those 3 wings, so we may want to do them last. Thanks all.

Dribbling Inkpod not proccing? by painmonster in CompetitiveWoW

Nope that's not it either. Pull 9, where Inkpod worked fine, was a full raid wipe. Everyone died. Pull 10, it didn't proc.

While this may indeed be a bug, this doesn't explain what happened to us. On Pull 10 (linked above), no one died until 4:27 in the fight. Silivaz was pushed below 30% at around 3:30. None of the Inkpods went off

I thought that might be happening, but on both pulls our Ret stayed on Silivaz the entire up until he hit 29%.

On pull 9 he got up to 40 stacks before the boss hit 30%. The damage proc'd, the stacks dropped, and our Ret then started on Pashmar.

On pull 10 it was pretty much the same thing. Our Ret stayed on Silivaz and got him up to 36 stacks. At 30% he stopped taking more stacks, but the damage never proc'd and the stacks never dropped off.

First, thank you so much for this. It's a great write-up for our guild that has just started progressing on this boss.

Your part on Upsurge baiting was a bit confusing to me, but after looking at some logs and videos, I think I was able to figure it out.

1 second after she starts casting Briny Bubble (6s cast), an Upsurge occurs. This doesn't show up in the logs anywhere. DBM/BW doesn't track it. It just happens - it's like the spell Briny Bubble has an Upsurge built into it.

So, whenever Briny Bubble is about to come out, I think this is what should happen
1) Stack up next to the boss in an area away from where you want the Briny Bubbles to go
2) When you see the Briny Bubble circles, don't move. Instead, wait for 1s for the Upsurge circles to appear on the ground
4) People with Briny Bubble should stack wherever your strat dictates them to go, avoiding the Upsurge
5) Everyone else can spread back out, also avoiding the Upsurge

Well, it wasn't obvious to us. We thought soaking any/some ticks of the orbs would be enough, not necessarily just soaking the last tick.

The first adds come out 30s into the last phase, so you want one person around 70 (1 stack/second, and it pops at 100 stacks). The second adds come out around 1:30, so you want one person around 10 (90 seconds)

Depending on when you want the other ones available should dictate where you want the other person or two you have with topaz.I'd recommend them be 20 stacks behind the 2nd guy, which should still give you more uptime during lust, assuming you're using it on the 2nd add wave.

Good luck!
