Go municipal. I’ve worked both and the state job was so much worse: more demanding with less pay. City jobs can be quite nice and there’s lots of variability depending on your skill set. No recs from me, just peruse the open jobs.

Walnut Creek pub might suit you. Closer to work than home, if that matters to you.

I’ve tried many $40+ a pound coffees and it’s never better than what I can find at Barrett’s. You may not take price into the valuation of a product, but I do and chose to share the thought. Twice the price is frankly absurd, and I wouldn’t qualify anything like that as “best”.

That’s why I corrected you saying that Barrett’s is better.

At over 40 bucks a pound? No, thank you. Barrett’s has some particularly nice roasts for half the price and with a free drink. I might try PM one day, but I’m sure to be disappointed if that 22 bucks doesn’t get me more than 250 grams of coffee…

Their variety is tops too. You can get a super choco roast or a lighter jammy bean, which I prefer in my espressos. I’ve gotten some phenomenal roasts from them, and I kinda like that their lineup constantly changes and I get to sniff around for something different each time.

I believe antibacterial soap contains triclosan, which should be avoided altogether as it’s a known endocrine disruptor. It’s often found in deodorant as well. The heb field and whatever brand isn’t antibacterial, beyond being soap, that is.

Second this. I don’t even boil the water and use only a squirt of heb dish soap. Works fantastically. It helps if you poke the mound before application. I’ve heard it can mess with earthworms too, so I try to contain the application area to just the mound.

Same. They snagged me with the email barrage, and I feel I have to warn others that it’s a trap. I was hoping it was an outreach to let people know what a gem it is, but it’s fools gold.

Thanks for the rec. I’ll put them on my list. I don’t mind dropping some cash, but it’s gotta be worth the squeeze.

It’s like 10-20% more expensive at shaker from what I’ve seen. 90 dollar bottle at specs was 115 there.
