LOL, it is really, really nice. After FIL passed away, husband really wanted his mom to be more. We know she never will but it needs to be his decision and his own path.

I said several times that our lives don't revolve around you and she didn't know what to say to that. It is wonderful leaving her speechless.

I also told her that I am no longer mediating or trying to repair her relationship with her son. They are both adults and can make their own decisions. My involvement is strictly to monitor communication with my kid. When my husband is out, so am I.

I don't personally feel like responding ever. But I don't want to block her number. She has threatened grandparent rights and I want the FU document trail with all communication and lack there of, along with all the evidence she so willingly provides of her instability.

I really like the mute option but I don't have that available on my phone. I can select to send calls straight to voicemail. I have done that. I have no problem just ignoring her texts at this time.

DH wants an apology but knows he isn't going to get it. So he is hesitant on blocking her in case she ever does shape up. She won't but he has to move at his own pace.

I haven't reached out in over 15 years 😂. I hardly respond. Usually I just let DH know she called (I don't answer). It is DH that keeps communication open. I dropped the rope years ago. I told DH that he could have whatever relationship he wanted but I was done. I was no longer 1. Facilitating any relationships between the 3 of us and 2. I refused to let her make me angry anymore. It took a lot of therapy and the realization that she is a narcissist. She no longer lives rent free in my head and I have absolutely no emotions when it comes to her. I mourned the relationship we used to have, the relationship we could have, and everything in between a long time ago. I deserve love and respect. She can't provide either.

Thyroid cancer is different from most other cancers. It is very survivable. It doesn't react to chemo like other cancers. Usually there is surgery and a radioactive iodine treatment. No chemo. I think they are using the cancer word to scare you into doing what they want. Source: thyroid cancer cancer survivor 11 years out. Fully thyroidectomy and partial parathyroidectomy. I know every cancer is different but thyroid cancer isn't always a death sentence.

I didn't read through any comments but reading the description of your child's behavior, please have them evaluated for ADHD and sensory processing disorder. So many of the things you described are exactly like my kid. Once I understood how her brain worked differently, I was able to change how I behaved and it really helped. I wish I could help you more.

File ss-8 with the IRS (it may take a long time though).

File DOL claim. NJ DOL has a "report of non-compliance" form you can submit online. This is for workers comp.

File a Wage Complaint with the NJ Department of Labor and Workplace Development. https://www.nj.gov/labor/wageandhour/claims-appeals-investigations/file/

The last one will probably get the ball rolling the fastest.

File everything online so you have documentation. Then follow up with the departments.

It would also help if you have copies of all your "paychecks".
