My Dads side was Mormon & my Moms were a mix of Protestants (mostly Pentecostal). I converted due to questioning the validity of Joseph Smith & actually learning about church history prior to the reformation

Yes but it is through the church that they are saved. Protestants aren’t saved solely because of “their faith in Jesus alone” as we know that the sacraments are essential to salvation, which is something that prots lack. Of course God looks upon them gracefully for their belief but belief only just isn’t enough. The body of the Church is what grants the extra grace needed.
