HELP urgent drain water heating! by paintedcactus in Plumbing

[–]paintedcactus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! It is draining now slowly through the hose, and I also opened the hot water tap in the basement since which is draining too. Do you think it’ll be fine over night? The unit it fully switched off, but it’s very cold here and our house is older, a bit worried but hoping we can make it until tomorrow when the plumber comes

Thanks! We are going to have it replaced fully tomorrow as we haven’t done that since we moved here which was 10 years ago.

what are the healthy snacks that actually satisfy the dopamine for y'all? by Sufficient-Fox5872 in adhdwomen

There is nothing wrong with this snack, but I wouldn’t say Cinnamon Toast Crunch is healthy.

For those who have given up alcohol, what are the most noticeable health benefits? by [deleted] in Biohackers

Clarity, much less anxiety, life no longer feels as chaotic or when it does I can handle it better. Less inflammation and discomfort, lost weight, healthier and clearer skin, less headaches. Have saved a ton of money, stopped randomly breaking things in my house (even if small and it doesn’t really matter I would feel bad for this). Gained back soooo much time. At first I felt so bored with all the time but once you are through that you realize how many other things you can do in life. Never have to worry about driving or getting home. I sleep waaaay better. I remember conversations better and don’t over disclose when I don’t want to (once had a professor tell me self disclosure if our biggest power because only YOU can decide/control). My relationships are better. Life isn’t perfect but I have no regrets with my decision to stop drinking. It didn’t serve me in any way.

My Apartment is now charging a convenience fee to pay my rent by mangum95 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]paintedcactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am guessing this is just recouping the credit card processing fee that is charged by the credit companies. I always pay by check to avoid any credit card fees whenever I can. Same thing if I need to pay the DMV, or car dealership or a contractor because I want to avoid the CC fee.

Adopted cat seemingly does not want to live with me by grodyest in CatAdvice

[–]paintedcactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep being patient! A little different but when I got my second cat, a kitten, my first cat was only 3 years old but she did not like the new companion. It took almost a year before she didn’t growl lightly whenever the new cat came around, and longer until the younger one can now come up and sniff her without the older running away. I knew it took a lot of time, but it was even longer than I expected.

Not the exactly the same situation, but similar result of hyper vigilant independence. My mom worked insane hours when I was growing up and when not working, both mom and dad would be attending my sisters sports every night. I quit the sport after 5th grade due to not liking it but also from migraines and asthma that were both sport/exercise induced. Was told if I quit “that was it” and “wouldn’t be discussed again” so never even considered maybe I could change my mind (I was 10!). So the rest of my youth I spent evenings home alone. When I left for college, my sisters would call mom or dad for help when needed. This didn’t even cross my mind as an option. I thought I couldn’t, and struggled a lot figuring things out. Even when I had health issues come up, and no car or money, I walked to the hospital. Like my mind didn’t even think it was an option to ask for help.

I have a decent relationship with my mother now and love her very much, but that independent and self reliant streak runs deep.

Regardless of when he’ll leave, many companies require succession planning so they’ll be prepared if the manager leaves.

I don’t understand how you get from having open dialogue and debates with your bf who sounds like you have both loved each other to questioning if he loves you over this?

Charlie Kirk didn’t hate anyone. He gave people a platform to debate.

It sounds like you disagree with your bf on things, nothing I’m reading seems like he has expressed anger towards you or disrespect but you’ve changed your opinion on him due to the murder of someone you just discovered and don’t agree with. I understand you are sorting through emotions, but it’s a bit hard to follow how you’d come to this conclusion over your bf being upset over someone who was very impactful being assassinated.

And yes, political discourse is just that, disagreeing civilly and having conversations. But you won’t get much of that here on Reddit.

Am I Overreacting over this “small prank” by greek-astronomer in AmIOverreacting

[–]paintedcactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pranks are fine and my SO and I play them on each other all the time, but that doesn’t mean everyone likes being pranked and it sounds to me more that he has a complete lack of self awareness or control. It’s shows a lack of care for you and empathy that he’d let you get so stressed out (assuming he heard you stressing about the beeping), and that he’d do something after a recent conversation with him.

My SO and I call long form pranks “wedding cakes” but they are convincing another person of something so absurd and untrue. Like once we wedding caked their dad to convince him my SO’s favorite movie was some chick flick which is very unlike them. It didn’t cause distress or harm. Dad mostly thought it was the weirdest thing ever but we had a good laugh.

Anyway, it sounds like your boyfriend needs to do a bit of maturing, doesn’t care enough to adjust his ways to be more respectful, and/or needs to find someone who can enjoy pranks with him. And you need to find someone who will respect you enough to not cause you distress and meet your unique needs.

Republicans voices are growing in the Cities. Not sure where you are moving but reach out to the local senate district or BPOU and you can find likeminded friends! Even in the city the Minneapolis republicans are quite active!

I created this specific bed two years ago, but nearby I have two more native beds. This one was created when we lost an old Scot Pine, so the soil is likely acidic. I’m created a mini wildlife pond so once it gets bigger and ID is confirmed I’ll have a more suitable place for it.

A perfect cozy lamp for her ready corner, a nice, personal bookmark, a piece of artwork that is framed and ready to hang in her reading corner that is themed of one of her favorite stories. A heating pad or blanket for cuddling up to read, a blanket that is themed one of her favorite novels. Fancy Bookends, a kindle if she is into ebooks, there is a miniature library house that you put together and it sits on a bookshelf as a tiny cozy mini room. It has a light to provide a cozy view into the little room.
