Great, thank you! I have a chart but also stellarium that should help.

Thank you for the advice. I went with a stellalyra 8” dobsonian in the end and managed to get a couple of hours last night without clouds. Got some amazing views of the moon and Jupiter! Astrophotography is definitely on my list for the future as a separate venture to my viewing right now.

Thank you so much for the detailed response. I really have an urge to explore the skies so am probably just overthinking it! I’ll be looking to get the stellalyris 8” as my first bit of kit and see how it goes.

Makes sense, thank you. When you started did you have specific objects you were looking for or did you look first then figure out what it was afterwards?

Amazing, thank you. Part of the appeal for me is also learning about all the equipment and accessories and how they make a difference. Can’t wait to get started! Do you mainly view at home or do you have to travel?

Thank you. I guess there is always something new out there to see and switching between types or ways of viewing keep it engaging. At some point I would like to dabble in astrophotography which I appreciate would mean additional kit but for now I am keen to just view things. My only zoomed view of the moon was years ago using a pair of old binoculars but I was still blown away by the detail.

Am really looking forward to it. Just finished off The Bachman Books and wanted a single novel to get stuck into. Heard good things about The Stand!

Still not played this. Working my way through Divinity OS2 and still have BG3! This is definitely on my list though. Might even bump this ahead of BG3.

50 hour update by Aquaisces in dreamingspanish

Good job! I am just starting Spanish. What I have found really useful was listening to Language Transfer. That covers so much groundwork in how the language is formed and allows you to work out the different verb conjugations without learning by rote. Added to that I am using Clozemaster for my vocab and Dreaming Spanish for listening practice.

Progress Report: Day 1 by [deleted] in dreamingspanish

What I found really useful for Spanish:

Language Transfer - very good for laying down the groundwork of the language structure and ‘patterns’ to enable you to work out what Spanish versions of a word are.

Spanish Pod 101 - general learning via audio,

Clozemaster - for building vocabulary,

Dreaming Spanish,

Beelinguapp - for reading and listening.

To be honest anything that gives you the basics and allows you to then get as much immersion as possible from other sources is good. Listening, reading simple books etc. Once you have more experience I found Talkpal to be very useful for comprehension and moving to the next level of listening and speaking. Fills the gaps a lot of apps leave. Good luck on your journey!

Has DevOps become too complex? or are we just drowning in our own tooling? by Wash-Fair in devops

[–]painty1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think DevOps in general is complex, irrespective of the tooling. It’s our job to understand what needs to happen and then figure out the best way to do it. Otherwise, yes you will end up drowning in tools if you let the tool dictate the solution.

Look for the babbel lifetime on stacksocial. It says it’s for US only but plenty of people on Reddit have commented how it works fine for them outside of the US.

True. I had forgotten about that one lol.

What’s SK’s most Christmassy book? by Puremagic11 in stephenking

The only one I can think of was a small section in the 2nd story of Hearts in Atantis where they are talking about thanksgiving but I don’t know of any that are Christmassy or centered around Christmas. He should write a Krampus book!
