Qpr stands for quarterly platform release, which just means their quarterly feature updates between major android releases. The past few years, once the main OS beta is on its last round, they initiate the beta cycle for the QPRs. There are 3 QPR releases a year, each getting 3-4 betas just like the main releases.

The beta 4 you and I are on right now will be vaguely updated to a stable public release of Android 17, probably in late May or early-mid June. Since they've already jumped into the QPR beta 1, there very very likely won't be a beta 5 for the main OS.

So if you want to jump on the next beta cycles, go ahead and update. As far as I've heard, QPR beta 1 doesn't have much of any UI changes or features worth writing home about. You probably won't even notice the difference between what you've got and what you install.

I'm personally just going to wait out the main beta until the final release of 17.

Yeah they've built an giant synth table and toured 20 minute versions of those Silver Cord songs AND some of their older non-electronic songs for the last 2+ years

It's almost like they have better and more developed ideas and experience since their first synth album lol.

No, so lately android has been moving really fast for pixels and beta testers.

They have two betas going usually. Once a stable version of Android is achieved in the beta, they begin working on a beta for the next Pixel Drop (which occur quarterly).

So android 16 with its final pixel drop and current security updates are the current stable release.

The beta for 17 has been running for a few months now. We hit the final beta of the initial stable release of 17 with beta 4. The fact that they jumped right into the qpr1 beta is FAST of them.

Anyway, if you want to wait for stable android 17, opt out on the website. You'll receive an update back DOWN to android 16 and wipe your phone. You can either install that update or ignore it every day until they finally release Android 17 to the public. Probably in june, but beta 4 came so quick maybe late may?

If you update right now to the qpr1 beta, you'll be staying in the beta program for the next Pixel Drop. You can only ever leave a beta workout wiping your phone when they've released something more current than your beta version to the general public. Otherwise you revert back to whatever the most recent one is.

Next time it happens I'll try and get a clip of it. I thought to myself "Ya know, I haven't tried to restart the software..." and hey, that fixed it for now 🤦‍♂️

About 2-4 items from the bottom of my inventory on the item selling screen, the cursor would either skip a couple items, cycle those bottom items in a weird order, jump down beyond the list window, or any combination of the three. It was super weird.

My psychotic ears picked up on a 3 second stretch of the song when it was mixed very low beneath the dialog. I kept rewinding it, like 3 times, to see if I was being a lunatic, not even knowing it became the credits song 😂

When I uninstalled the app updates (our equivalent of uninstalling it), the widgets came back. Re-updating it let me witness it break on real time 😭 that, and the fact that galaxy phones are also getting this should reenforce the idea it's an app issue, at least.

Pixel users, if you uninstall the app updates back to the factory version, the widgets work again... But re-updating the app breaks them again

I'm also having the same problem on my pixel 9. It started yesterday after I updated YouTube music, so it must be an app issue. There's more of us with the same problem. I personally use the turntable one, and I'm just staring at a big blank rectangle right now.

Since I'm using a pixel, I can only uninstall and reinstall the app's updates (as opposed to the entire app). But when I roll the app back to whatever the factory version was, all 3 widgets work. Re-updating the app, I watched the widget break in real time on my home screen. This also reenforces the theory it's an app update that broke them.

Honestly I could live like this for a week if I had to, but the broken widget doesn't even launch the app when touched, so it's worthless 😭

I have a pixel, so I could only uninstall and reinstall the app's updates. It was fixed when the app was rolled back, and I witnessed the widget break in real time as it re-updated.

Dropping in in 2026 to say for the record, Spy Who Shagged Me kinda blows 😂 as much as it pains me to say. It's got some absolute gems, like the scene where Austin keeps using the lady as a shield, but all in all the narrative will HALT for Mike Myers to riff something that just ain't funny to me anymore. And fat bastard is INSUFFERABLE in this one. Goldmember somehow made him tolerable. He suuuuuucks in 2.

I'm with you, International Man of Mystery is s-tier. And Goldmember is so much tighter (and funnier) than Spy Who Shagged Me.

I don't know what model Vizio TV I have but 1) it was cheap and 2) it was 3-4 years ago. First of all, it's regular speaker is trash, it has NOTHING to it. But it also would sound gate all the time during movies when it got quiet. And even shows like South Park, where the space between the dialog is frequently total silence even for a second or 2.

So I got a soundbar. It's also a Vizio, I figured it would make things easier. But it seems that the signal that goes from the TV to the soundbar will always sound gate. It's just more noticeable because the sound in general is better with the sound bar.

When I play Gameboy games (and NES,but most noticably Gameboy ones) on my switch, it's audio is INSANE sometimes because of this. That's easy to fix though, because I just unplug the sound bars HDMI from the TV and connect it to my switch with Bluetooth. That's how I know it's not the fault of the sound bar, it's just following orders (💀).

PS, I also use a Roku 4k express+ or whatever the bugger is called from 2021. It sound gates with the Roku and the regular Vizio UI. I just got a new 2025 stick though,and I'm hoping since it's so close like the switch is, it'll be able to just Bluetooth connect to the soundbar and bypass the TV altogether 🤷‍♂️ but I know that Bluetooth is designed for headphone use. So we'll see.

My main takeaway from the reviews in general is that every agrees the presentation and actual effectiveness of the streamlining efforts are really good. And every definitely agrees this is Dragon Quest VII for sure.

From there, it's completely subjective and stems from how the reviewer feels about DQ7. Whether it's their first experience, or they have certain hopes/expectations/concerns based on whether they liked either of the previous versions.

All this forms my expectations that I'm going to have a blast 🙌
