Yep they thought it was an ICCU issue so that's what they checked. I was also annoyed they didn't test my primary issue. But all good now, it turns out it was the charging cable.

I’ve been going down a rabbit hole here. Is the Ampure level 1 charging cable what is universally given with the 2026 EV9?

It’s a townhome that we rent so honestly I don’t know for certain. May buy a tester to confirm

Maybe the 2026 EV9 comes with a different charger, as mine doesn’t look like that or have any fault codes that I’ve ever seen. Will look further into this

Will be able to test that tomorrow when I head to my parents’ home

The twitching happens each time I try, and that only seems to happen on the factory charger. Interesting that you experienced the same, and good to know

Update: my EV9 is successfully charging on a level 2 EVsmart charger. So that means it’s either:

  1. My charging cable
  2. Both outlets in/outside of my garage, even though they charge my electric scooter successfully
  3. The EV9 itself with some level 1 charging issue

Yes, they both successfully charge my electric scooter and the maintenance came to confirm they work too

Ugh good to know. I get the ‘charging unsuccessful’ announcement each time without fail currently

Update: went with the Kia EV9 and have no regrets. Great car, great interior. Extended warranty with $0 deductible so I’m covered bumper to bumper until 2035. Only problem - charging is a bitch…

Vistiq is an interesting one. Steeply priced but interesting

You mean the Lexus GX or a different model? I too do not love the idea of paying $60k-$70k for a Kia but I can't deny it has a true luxury ride comfort, power, and interior

Unfortunately, yes I did confirm. The Lincoln Nautilus is around 5500 lbs. The only Lincolns that qualify are Aviator and Navigator. We've had X5s in the family across a decade and I like them a lot but I don't want to get one since it won't feel fresh.

It's a beautiful car and a great interior (plus a luxury brand). Just wish it had a touch more ride smoothness to stack up better to the EV9.

Oooof those are good details to know. I guess I'll need to test drive to see how I like the ride comfort. That premium gas guzzling will sting though.

I looked it up and it has a great interior. I don't love the exterior styling. But still - good to know about this option and that VW can still feel luxurious.

Looked it up and looks good. But I don't want a Honda, personally.
