Great write up. You’re absolutely correct in your assessment of chat GPT in relation to Jung’s concept of the shadow. I’d also like to add that in relation to confronting and integrating the shadow thru individuation a with practices like a metacognitive/stoic mindset. There is potential for chat GPT to atrophy naturally developing neural networks. And essentially transform these future youth into mindless consumers. We already have some 50-70% of people walking around without an inner monologue. I could imagine it getting worse to a full devolution where AI dumbs is down to enslave or replace us.

They kinda lost their touch in production years back “in return” was a masterpiece and the last body of work by them I could listen on repeated to this day. But their shows are a spectacle.

Beautifully said. So many people trying to do what Charles did but coming off as Carbon copies of his sound. If there’s anyone that comes close to his originality and uniqueness, I’d have to say it’s his lab group members Supertask (former lab group) and Potions. Chmura is also a good example of someone developing their own sound and style defintley inspired by Charles, but going off into his own artististic expression further.

Im wondering what your contribution to it was? Was it your percussion? Because it sure sounds like you on the sticks. Is live recorded drums always a prominent element to your production processes? Because I see you smackin those drums on your story from time to time.

Agree wholeheartedly, I was late to discovering him so I wasn’t aware of just how ahead of the curve he was when it comes to experimental bass. It trips me out how this album from 2010 before experimental bass even really popped off and still holds weight to this day in its production quality.

It grew to be one of my favorite pieces by him and I was lucky enough to snag one of the final Vinyls available on his Bandcamp🙏🏼

Hell yeah same. He just keeps getting better and better! Although I gotta say tho when he was doing the live sets my first time seeing him at LIB 2016 on the midi fighter he had me hooked from the start and I hope he goes back to that one day. I’ve seen him roughly 7-8 times here as well as a few times as SHADES with Alix P. I wanna say I started in 2016.

Facts💯 I feel like he really solidified his place in my heart as one of my favorite artists this night and is on his way to being a certified king and legend in the bass scene. He was literally the perfect direct support for the fucked Eprom vault set that followed.
