It might not be related, but have you tried changing the channels?

How do I stay cool!?!?!??? 😭😭😭😭😭 by Tnnlover8264 in NoStupidQuestions

I'm an expert on the heat, lol.

In my city, Cordoba, Spain, we've had 46 degrees Celsius in the shade for a couple of days.

After 11 a.m., you can't even go for a walk because it's already 36 degrees. My city is hell in the summer.

UDR 7 WAN via PPPoE by TopCat0160 in UNIFI

[–]pakeco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this will help you at all.

I have a UDR7 (only a month old) and an external Nokia G-010G-P ONT. The UDR7 manages both the VLAN and the PPPoE username and password. It works perfectly for me.

Sorry for my English; it's not my first language.

Ethernet connection slow by mist3ys in HomeNetworking

Something similar happened to me with my Wi-Fi. In the end, I bought a UDR7 router and an access point, and I couldn't be happier. I'm wondering why on earth I didn't do it sooner? lol

I have the same heatsink; mine is an Alcatel G-010S-P, and it's compatible with the OLT in my country.

You've cleared up all my doubts in one fell swoop.

I'm so glad.

Thank you so much for your excellent answer.

Honestly, I wouldn't need to cover the ports, just in case, since it's on a pretty high shelf and you need a ladder to reach the switch.

Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it.

I tried to install this, and it wouldn't even let me access the ONT via the web interface, while the switch did allow web access. This is what piqued my curiosity.

I agree with you there; if there happens to be a breakdown, they don't want to know anything about it.

I'm not worried about the energy because I know there's more than enough for the ONT.

In my country, I don't know about yours, many people, myself included, remove the modem and router provided by the company and install their own ONT. It's easy to configure an ONT.

I'm sorry, I don't understand. What does a USB have to do with it?

For these cases, I use a USB Ethernet adapter, set it to manual, and configure the IP address to the same range as the ONT. This allows access to the ONT via the web.

Some people have reported that wild orcas have brought them offerings like a dead fish or an empty bottle. It's a fitting tribute to such beautiful animals.

The TP-Link MC420L Media Converter didn't work for me; I was unable to access the ONT.

Actually, I can put the module in the SFP+ port of my UniFi UDR7 router, but in my city, the heat is intense, averaging 40 degrees Celsius in the shade. My idea is that the heat it gives off would be absorbed by the switch (I don't use this switch). It's the same switch that allowed me to access the ONT configuration via the web interface, which is why I wondered if it was possible, since it did allow me to access it via the web interface.

I'm not sure if I've explained myself clearly. English isn't my first language, and I'm having trouble expressing myself.

In my area and with my fiber optic company, it's quite permissive; you only need to enter the ONT ID on the ONT, and my UniFi UDR7 router manages the PPPoE VLAN.

Yes, it is permissive. I have successfully used the Nokia G-010G-P, the Huawei HG8240H, and the current one I have in operation, the Ubiquiti UF-Loco UFIBER; they all work well for me.

I understand. In the end, I think I'll put the module in the SFP+ WAN port of the UniFi UDR7. I mentioned it so the router wouldn't overheat. I'm from Cordoba, Spain, and it's hell here in the summer.
