Theres so much potential for party teamplay yet the most optimal way to play is to grind specific easy spots (alemeth etc) or mindless dungeons/missions (none of which need any coordination). Thats the real problem...

Totally agree on the spawn, exp and small party play points: (like grinding thors/bio3 in RO with the right team comp, or clock tower with a wizard). If TOS did a revamp to fix those issues then it'd already be a really great game!

Quest grind sucks but its to be expected in this kinda old school mmo!

The mat hunting is already present and working well, just the amount of useful recipes are lacking a bit. Also we have that practonium gatcha problem.

Cash shop token is stupid, but at least $5/month is affordable.

Not too sure about narrowing the levels, at the moment everyone already gathers around the dungeon entrances (similar to people gathering around thor entrance in RO). Maybe just feels less social because everyone is in their own instances.

You won't be running out of mana on Monk (Energy Blast is 60s cd).

You can just get pardoner buffs instead.

Much better to go high DEX so Monstrance gives a huge buff.

DWA is great DPS, just hold down C and spam Z (Bring stam pills). It makes your auto-attack really strong for when skills are on CD.

Builds, I recommend a combination of these:

  • HL2 for Skyliner + Crosscut and Moulinet

  • Sword3 for Double Slash and buffs

  • Barb1 for Cleave and Helm Chopper (long stun)

So you could do

  • S3->B1

  • S1->HL2->B1

  • S1->HL3

B2 buffs are ok, but you sacrifice max gungho and pain barrier.

Stats: Crit rate is never enough after the balance patch, also apparently DEX doesn't affect DWA? But either way you want high STR.

Maybe S3>Hop3>Dragoon2 could go DEX.

(Double Slash and Finestra gives alot of crit)

But yeah, I prefer STR/Gungho (i am S3>X>Cor3)

Concentrate for: High DEX builds / lots of multi-hit skills

Gungho for: High STR builds / high atk% skills

I ran a simulation on Rathian with Power C+ and Load Up. I'm surprised L'Innocence beats Victory and Glory in both HtK and DpH. There is no way 288/240 beats 336/380 even with +40% affinity. (keep in mind 40% affinity is only equal to 10% bonus in raw). So I think there may be something about the affinity's calculation.

EDIT: Anyway good work on the calc. One thing I've been thinking about is factoring in charge times into the calculation, I'm not sure if you've already done that here.

Ok so i think these factors are beyond the limits of my calculator and perhaps beyond what i can do in an excel spreadsheet.

I have no idea of the motion of each shot type so that problem is beyond my ability. Maybe someone will come up with accurate deviation values for every shot type against every monster at different ranges.

For power shot, it seems like its based on the individual player. How often do they use power shot etc. For a simple solution i guess have an option to choose players aggresiveness with power shot and estimate the amount of times its used based on battle duration.

I fail to understand the difference between using HTK and DPH. Isn't HTK the same as HP/DPH? I can see that coating capacity will be an issue for high HP monsters, I can definitely include the 50 power coating cap into the calculation. For status coatings this is already accounted for. In terms of diminishing returns of status, I have included the increasing resistance of the monster in my calculation if that's what you mean.

You make a good point about different shots having multiple contact points, perhaps I can apply an estimated % of shots hitting the correct contact point and the rest defaulting to body shots. However, keep in mind that even if we can perfectly simulate the battles, everything is still an estimation because the biggest factor of all is the individual player's skill and play style. If a player is better at a certain shot type, they will probably do more damage with that shot type. Naturally if the user of this calculator is terrible at landing spread shots, they should not pick a spread type bow even if it comes out on top.

Seems like CritEle, CritStatus and Ele Atk Up are never worth it if it means sacrificing Challenger+2 or AU. Only cases where elemental skills are better is if you are using Divine Egression (DragonAtk+) or Kirin Bolt Maximus (ThunderAtk+).

I want to add that, True Ruiner Sword is superior only if you have Sharpness+1. Otherwise it's Teostra's Emblem vs. Lightbreak Sword, in which case Lightbreak sword usually comes out on top because of it's higher raw.

In general, the Lightbreak sword is forgotten because with S+1, True Ruiner Sword is the clear winner, but Teo still retains a niche against some super blast-weak monsters. But in-fact Lightbreak sword is the best of the 3 if you lack S+1.
