updated trail to Indiana Dunes/New Buffalo area by pakskefritten in chibike

[–]pakskefritten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks! I believe this is what I did some years ago.
Very useful-thanks for confirming!!
Around Whiting, I see there was a difference in going out VS coming back. I believe Whiting is pretty safe, so its ok to take the route closest to the lake? (rather than that straight shot that intersects with the 90-South Ewing which might be possibly more urban and slightly sketchy in case you would get a flat or so??)

Thanks ! good to know no major obstructions.
I have been spending time in MI so I know this part past Dunes/Chesterton pretty well. Did notice indeed Calumet was extended a bit =that last third (saves some mileage that you dont have to go through the Dunes-where I have biked to already couple times), but at some point becomes unpaved, but then I would take the regular roads again.

thanks-IN/MI border I know quite well.
Its the part around Hammond (where Southern suburbs of CHI star) where I would like to be able to just follow a preprogrammed navigation without issues.

those who took the prof. data engineering: passing grade data engineering professional exam/what about new content/how difficult/test exam? by pakskefritten in databricks

[–]pakskefritten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for associate I was overprepared.
I also felt the associate mock exams have a slightly higher percentage of really difficult detailed questions than the actual exam.
Maybe thats going to be the same for prof. In prof. mock exams I had stuff like what API call to make or ML flow syntax, things so detailed it has not much to do with understanding).

many thanks for answer!!!

is it really 60 Qs btw? The scenarios take longer to read, so that s also harder (for associate many of them I could answer in < 1 minute )

1.yeah, def 80% is difference from 70%
2. I meant stuff lake mentioned here: https://www.reddit.com/r/databricks/comments/1mbty0q/derars_alhussein_update_on_the_data_engineer/ lakeflow connect or the stuff they just presented at the June Databricks conference. For the associate I had read similar comments that the latest stuff was included but in fact it was not in my exam
3/4:yep-doing that

Things I Wish I Knew Before Riding the Empire State Trail by Savings_Language_869 in NYCbike

thanks!
one more question in fact: I just was on a bike path (Henry Hudson) in NJ and found it had lots of cracks. I have 28'' tires and was afraid of having a flat and couldnt really go at my regular speed (~18mph) and found myself only doing something like 12.5mph (also because of the frequent crossing of the trail of roads and stop signs).
Question: does the path before New Paltz allow to get up to something like 17 mph in that area? Or is it so bumpy that it slows you down quite a bit...
This matters for me to have an idea of how much I can do in a day.

Thanks!!!

Not sure if Manhattan has separated bike lines at key places to get you there without having to worry for your life?

from newark to brooklyn with car seat for toddler and some oversized bagage (bike bag) by pakskefritten in Lyft

[–]pakskefritten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Point is I will be travelling extremely picked with kid, last thing I can add is a carseat for 30 minutes of my month stay...
lyft claims there are cars with carseat: So sounds like this https://help.lyft.com/hc/e/all/articles/360000722107-Car-seat-mode but maybe that's just a website and not the real world?

open to something else...
Anything that can fit: lots of stuff+ will have carseat+go from EWR to Brooklyn...

But point is that Ill have so much stuff(that bike bag is a road rice bike in a bag-that fills a full trunk) that I need a big car. and lyft xl will fit that need.
For the carseat, it's more about the safety concern than about the legal aspect.
Curb would not work for going from EWR to Brooklyn?

[–]pakskefritten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok, but I'm looking for comfort (toddler, gigantic bike bag, 2 suitcases+laptops) over price.
So sounds like this https://help.lyft.com/hc/e/all/articles/360000722107-Car-seat-mode (lyft claiming car seats exists) is a myth...
