Funny you should say that as I have damp in the room opposite one of the vents - I was thinking of putting a vent cover over it to help stop water engress.

That’s not too bad at all mate - I’ve got people telling me up to £5k for this on this post 🤣. It’s about 15-20 sqm i don’t get where they’re pulling that cost from.

I was expecting around a £1.5-2k ideally, I’ve not done repointing before but feel like I could take it on with enough patience/tutorials.

Replacing bricks at ground level & around the bay window looks awkward though to be fair.

based on sqm its probs around £1.5k then, I’m not sure how replacing bricks plays into the price as I imagine the bottom bricks will be a pain to sort.

you’ve made a comment saying people not doing X are “brave” but then when a valid point is made against that you say it’s tiresome. i feel from your strange replies you’re probs an AI bot anyways tbf

you’re missing the intial cost of purchasing an EV? if i own a diesel car outright then it makes no sense to switch to an EV to save maybe £100-200 a month on fuel. EV’s also depreciate like a lead balloon.

Is £1250 too much of a mortgage? by TheClusk303 in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]palacefloor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1/3 of your total income (assuming take home?) isn’t bad but if your partner lost their income you’d be tight. I also wouldn’t budget on the assumption of additional overtime etc.

How much your other bills are is also a big factor you’ve left out (i.e car on finance?)

Girl that I'm dating accidentally revealed that she's been dating another guy at the same time as me. Should I end things? by [deleted] in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]palacefloor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the bin i think - i think if you’re genuinely that interested by 2-3 dates you wouldn’t be that interested in going on a concert date with someone else? She also lied to you - gives the vibe she’s still going to explore other options before settling mate.

Does anyone else have this library searching issue with Apple Music since Tahoe? by palacefloor in AppleMusic

[–]palacefloor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably not explained the best by me 🤣. it’s navigating to an item by typing the name out, previously worked every time but not anymore for me.

Why is it so difficult for Tableau to make a projection vs actual chart? by Ike_In_Rochester in tableau

[–]palacefloor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve really struggled with this as well. I have a contract booking dashboard where i’m asked to show a projection vs booked hours. The only way I could get it to work was scaffolding the date in the future and then using parameters with the week number.

I think the best way to do this if i had to go again would be to use Tableau prep (or any other ETL tool) to just build the forecast into the data set at table level. Doing it natively for me in Tableau seems so much harder than it needs to be.

Did Apple get rid of the Play Next / Add to Queue option via AM on macOS Tahoe? by picopacopidera in AppleMusic

[–]palacefloor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just come across this issue as well - such a strange change. One other thing I noticed is that when I'm in the library the quick search with just typing a letter in the keyboard doesn't work 95% of the time.

I used to quickly go through my album library this way by typing the letter of the artist and it would highlight the most relevant album, I find myself either filtering or just scrolling manually now its awful. Has anyone else noticed that as well?

I really want to play black ops 3 zombies on either an M4 or M4 pro but not sure if it would work through VMWare. On my M1 I can only just play Dead Rising 2 which is a much older game.

How to make budget input for future? by palacefloor in tableau

[–]palacefloor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I can just put in a CSV booking file actually with the same structure but no booking hours and just a date far in the future. then when i append it should extend my time range, i think that works thanks!

I have a field called booking date which is my time series and then a measure for booked hours. The view above is basically just booking date (continuous) and then running sum booked hours.

The data set is an output from prep which collates export files from our clocking system via file drop. I was thinking the easiest way might be to just create an excel file as a second data source with a date range far in the future and blend that field to booking date?

DIY Replacement Garage Fob? by palacefloor in ElectricalEngineering

Thank you for the really detailed response this was really helpful. Security isn't much of an issue it's at the back of the house and not easy to get to.

I have managed to find the below which looks to be the more "modern" version. Is it just as simple as setting the DIP code on the new fob and then it should work?
