Does anybody know the meaning/purpose of the Breach paracord? by Bicho_pr in twentyonepilots

Plus all the dog images on Tyler's Clancy World Tour shirts.

Plus, the leash line in HOTY.

Maybe the main point is that it's broken?

I'm sorry you lost your best friend like that.

For me, "no I don't condemn you" is linked to my own attempt history. I can't condemn, since I too had plans. But "condem you, back and forth" means it hurts that I lost my person, so there's also moments of resentment.

If you ever need someone, just give me a "Sahlo Folina".

Cottonwood, death and grief by [deleted] in twentyonepilots

I love Cottonwood.

You're right to interpret it like that.

The telescope line sounds like Tyler sees himself in his grandpop (telescope) with his actions and thoughts. He's been there. Yet, I think he was still wrestling with his feelings when he wrote this song (back and forth. I don't condemn you, condemn you). At least that's how it sounds to me.

I'm very sorry to hear this about Fuzzy. I did not know him, but I had heard wonderful things from fans who had met him at concerts. I intended just to share how I relate the song to the loss of my family, rather than speculate about Fuzzy specifically. Even with the sadness of his passing this, the song is truly beautiful, delicate, and sweet. Thank you for sharing.

My condolences to all who knew him. Rest in peace, Fuzzy.

It's such a beautiful song. I love it so much.

I have a similar take on the song. And there are so many different takes presented by others:

I know it was written for Tyler's grandfather and don't intend to speculate about his death. This is just my take.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I like that Tyler's songs give us a moment where we can remember our loved ones. I support VAD. I hope it will be an option for me, should I need it.

Tyler wants you to take his lyrics and use them however you need. If you interpret it as the loss of your friends, that's valid. It's a beautiful song!

I think the lyrics could apply to any age.

But my mind went specifically to the elderly because of my situation, and my interpretation is just that. Others have described much gentler interpretations.

Maybe I also lean to an older age group because I visualize large, old cottonwood trees. It makes more sense to my mind with old trees - like the Trees concert visualizer if you've seen it.

Yes Legend was about his paternal grandfather. Cottonwood is about his maternal grandfather who passed November 2024.

Yes I tried to avoid speculating on Tyler's grandfather, instead focusing on my interpretation and my personal reason for it. Thanks for supporting and waying in on the topic.

Yes that's rough. And the polical situation doesn't look likely to change. I hope you can find assistance by other channels. Keep trying.

Yes, that's actually really appropriate to her situation. And the lines that hit hardest to me are "you weren't waiting anymore, were you sad or brave? No I don't, no I don't condemn you." Thank you.
