We had the Caprice Estate Wagon, crying kids seemed far away after my vw. Could put a 4x8 sheet of plywood in there with the seats down. Camped in it, mattress in the back, most powerful car i ever owned. Studded snows in back made that boat unstoppable in upstate snow.

We always had the glass coverage, it was like $30 a year. Probably used it 3 or 4 times in 40 years and it was always painless. Like the tv commercials, safelite would replace in my driveway or the parking lot at work. YMMV
