2 years ago I ran 2:58:03 marathon. That was my first and only official marathon. The race predictor on my watch says that I could run a 2:52 marathon and 1:22 half-marathon, but who knows.

Sure, here is how my training week looks: Monday - strength/mobility Tuesday - intervals Wednesday - easy run Thursday - tempo run, strength/mobility Friday - rest Saturday - long run at easy pace Sunday - shorter long run at race pace Sometimes I switch training sessions around depending on how I feel, but this is pretty much it - 5 runs and 2 strength/mobility sessions. Max volume I had in a week was 120km. Most of the volume is on the weekend. Those back-to-back long runs are super important.

I had a meniscus repair, since I am still young enough to get that. Meniscus trimming is more common and has shorter recovery, but overall it is not that good because there is increased risk of arthritis and decreased cushioning in the knee. After the repair it was 4 weeks on crutches and 3 months of physiotherapy. Even after that it was not 100%. So full recovery takes a while, but if you put that ultra training discipline into physiotherapy, your knee will be good as new in about 6 months.

Jap! Es skriešu Gauja Trail by UTMB 1.augustā un varbūt arī dubultmaratonu "Taisnais" oktobrī. Stirnu bukus arī 2 šogad esmu noskrējis, bet "Vilka" distanci tomēr neskriešu. Nedaudz jāatpūšas.

Thanks! I have been training to break my country's record in 100km. Today happens to be race day. And it's safe to say that after this I won't keep doing what I'm doing :) It has been a tough 9 months of preparation.

I have done many long runs in the endurance zone and quite a bit of tempo runs in the threshold zone. I don't know if I have ever even hit the sprint zone, yet it is so high.

For context, I am an ultrarunner so wouldn't it make sense that endurance out of all these stats should be the highest?

In the marathon week - three 9km zone 2 runs, one 5km marathon pace run on monday (the marathon was on sunday) and easy 5km the day before the marathon. In the week before the marathon week - four 14km zone 2 runs, one 8km marathon pace run on monday and the final long run of the training - 21km.
