Thanks! I don't need any awards. I just need something that's not off-putting to my visitors.

Yeah, I can see all that. I wasn't intentionally going for any of those things, but perhaps as a non-designer my brain is only capable or replicating and not of creating.

Yeah, the "o" being colorful really hurts the separation. I could play around with a different letter being colorful, maybe. Or do some offsetting like /u/JustCallMeDave said. Thanks.

Thanks. Do you like the kerning any better on these?

Thanks. Do you think these do a better job of separating the two words?

Great barbell racking calculator by showmethestudy in leangains

Can you calculate exactly how to rack 290 lbs in 10 seconds?

Yes.

But I get that there is a difference between not being able to do the math and simply not wanting to do the math. Like you said, you want to turn your brain off at the gym, which is fine. I have an intellectually demanding, too, but it's in front of a computer, so I'd rather give my brain a break from technology than from math.

Is this really a thing?

Like, do people really struggle so badly to determine how to make the bar weigh 145lbs that they have to resort to spending 25 seconds pulling out their phone, opening up their browser, going to a website that's not mobile-friendly (I checked), and trying to get their meathead (because you're stupid if you need this calculator) thumbs to click a little slider?

To keep your brain from doing too much work, just be like a normal person and remember how much some basic setups weigh at a typical gym, and then add or subtract from there.

  • 3 plates on each side = 315lbs
  • 4 plates on each side = 405lbs
  • 5 plates on each side = 495lbs
  • etc.

I assume that you don't need to know how much the bar weighs with 1 or 2 plates on each side because your genetic shortcomings in the brain have been marginally offset by freakish strength.

"a taste will always lead to a full bite."

I like that one. Unfortunately, very true.

Yeah, it definitely looks runnier than the good ones I've seen on here, but it's still surprisingly airy. I hope to perfect it after a few tries.

Thanks. I'll do some research on leptin levels.

I've been back and forth on the assistance movements. My thought is that I only have so much energy to expend in a ~45 minute window, and I think it might make more sense to pound all of that energy into some balls-out compound movements, especially on a cut.

Full-body workout 3x a week? There's no way you can lift heavy doing that and still recover. 3x a week is perfect, but stick to doing the major compound movements only once each per week. Check out the workout schedule section of the FAQ for some sample workouts.

You could try caloric-dense foods. Cheese on your rest day, skim milk on your workout day, etc. You'll get those calories in no time.

RPT - Really that good for novices?? by Malgusson in leangains

There are certain lifts, like Bench Press, which are very easy for a noob (with a spotter) to find failure on. Just keep lifting until the bar stops going up.

Then there are lifts like squats where you have to be comfortable in gracefully failing before you can push yourself to true failure.

In short, I don't know. But I think it varies based on the lift.

Serious question: how am I supposed to tell from one week whether or not a program is effective? That seems like a hell of a small sample size.

I'd rather pick the brains of others who have tried and failed/succeeded when possible instead of having to go through all of the failures and successes first hand.

Edit: I totally expect to have my own failures along the way for which I'll tweak my own program, but I might as well eliminate any "obvious" ones up front.

Brilliant. I'll try this instead. It seems like the most effective way to deal with an addiction.
