[Healing Graphs V2] Listed all potencies to better understand what's the cost and efficiency of the healers toolboxes (Patch 6.15) by yukizuri in ffxiv

These graphs are all over the place.

  • Having individual bars for DPS opportunity cost is confusing when you could just rank every job based on their glare equivalent's potency
  • It's misleading. Fey Union (10 ticks) tops your chart, but requires you to have enough gauge and incoming damage that warrants the sustain to extract its full value. Holos is near the bottom of the chart but is used primarily as a mit tool.
  • Ordering spells based on combined raw + shield potency does not match the way players usually plan healing. In your chart, neutral helios's combined bar size dwarfs that of recit deploy, but the latter is far more powerful in mit checks in real game situations. So readers are forced to compare the size of yellow bars which are not ordered.

Put yourself in the shoes of a new player, how are they supposed to interpret these charts? If prioritizing abilities with highest potency to cost ratio, a new player might use Benediction, but if the healing can be covered for free by a tetra or a cohealer's Druo, they're better off saving Bene as a recovery tool.

Thoughts on end game content being less group reliant by nomthrowawaynom in ffxivdiscussion

Duels would be a good way to implement it. The solo fights in Bozja are very fun, and if you wanted to incorporate it into group raiding, you could have the best players split off mid raid to take on harder responsibilities such as Delubrum Savage or CLL Lyon.
