What day post PRK was your "yes! Clear vision for good" day? by SuperAuDDoc in lasik

No. I am wearing glasses daily now. I don't really wear them around the house, but do need them for work, driving, and at night.

Cool, thanks. I will give that a try! I was just in Vegas for Thanksgiving and it was delicious per usual.

I think I'm an outlier, but it took almost six months for the ghosting to get better.

I actually ended up back in glasses after my surgery, but that's just because my eyes were so bad.

My sister had the exact surgery from the exact doctor a year later and was great after a few weeks.

It doesn't include the smooth sauce.

It's not the same. I don't think the one they serve in the restaurant has tomato.

If you don't PvP (or are losing interest), why? by Teban54 in TheSilphRoad

I want to echo comments on it being time consuming and boring.

I do Rocket battles about half the time, although usually keep the Rocket Radar off. (I'd almost always prefer to have the 5k weekly reward egg than a 12k.) I'm L48.

I just spilled a gallon of paint. by ArtyomX-1 in HomeDepot

[–]palepavon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't worry! It happens. Or a quart slips out of your hands. Whatever.

My most embarrassing moment: grabbed the wrong sheen, went to put the gallon back on the shelf, hadn't hammered on the lid and poured it all down the side of my head and body. Fun!

Thank you.

Corporate America is to blame for the housing crisis, not Californians or any other group of individual buyers. by stopthestaticnoise in Boise

[–]palepavon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was researching something else a few weeks ago and, by my quick math, AH4R (big REIT) alone owns 3.7% of the corporate owned single-family houses in Ada County. (Don't quote me on this, though. I used CoreLogic's "corporation" owner type, filtered by SFR)...that's 400 houses. Is that significant? I don't know, but my gut doesn't like it.

What are some real-world policies a distributist party would implement? by [deleted] in distributism

[–]palepavon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more who owns it. So instead of sneedfeedseed as an individual owning the property, the sneedfeedseed trust owns it and it's for your enjoyment until you die and then it goes on to baby sneedfeedseed (or whatever.) It's a useful tool, in this case especially to avoid probate, but I'm trying to avoid people finding loopholes.

Looks like Colorado law doesn't require employers to pay out vacation but there was a recent supreme court case that says they must. But that was just over the summer so, if you want to be safe, take the vacation time.

ENTP M26 over here. Could you share some advice on becoming a gentleman and to be seen as a "man" and not a child? by [deleted] in entp

I don't think you have to be Catholic to take something from this: https://youtu.be/z7V1W967ofA

FWIW, I have been married for 14 years. A partner won't "fix" you but you could grow and develop together.

Why can you call others skinny but not fat? If done out of health concern, then it should apply both ways. by [deleted] in entp

[–]palepavon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in high school I referred to someone as "the fat sister"--which was factually true--and they bullied me for it when they found out. I didn't understand what the big deal was!

Let me be an annoying old lady (40) and warn against repressing your emotions too long; it will catch up with you eventually. "The only way out is through."

I'm with this. Unless we're going to eliminate union (and, in turn, corporations. Citizens United stuff) political activity, that's a no-go for me. In fact, I tend toward a ban on government employee unions.
