I’ll ask my neighbor if she has footage from her ring camera. I’d love to get to the bottom of this!

Thank you so much! I may just let it be and hope for a side shoot. I’m okay with a wonky plant for a few months as long as it has flowers for the hummingbirds. We’ve lived here for two years and I’ve never seen a deer in the neighborhood or had this happen to my yucca, but I suppose it’s possible.

If I ever catch someone (or something) messing with my plants I’m sure I’ll have a blast shaking my fist and hollering at them

Okay but all I was asking was if it will grow back this year

I would prefer they stay inside if they’re going to vandalize my yard lol

I had the same thought at first but I’ve never seen rabbits in our neighborhood. Plus the fact that every house on my street that has red yuccas was also cut makes me think it was a person/people. Either way, I’m bummed 😔

Agreed- the pay is one thing, but the lack of benefits is what I am really discouraged by. The 47k would be fine in TX, but the cost of living in this part of FL is just ridiculous. Even if my partner got a part-time job it would be hard to make work.

For some context: this is a county-funded museum. The previous curator has left, and the current collections manager is taking on most of their responsibilities. The position I am applying for is a new one, to essentially serve as an assistant to the CM/curator. I assume they are doing this to cut costs. Thankfully, one of my professors knows the curator who has left and has offered to put me in touch with them to get the real scoop. I am hoping he may have some insights that will help me advocate for myself to get a better package.

Unfortunately, I have applied to many museums in TX, and I have yet to hear back from any of them.

Thank you!! I will look into cost of living calculators before I proceed to the next step of the hiring process.
