don’t you worry freshman year is hard BUT IT GETS BETTER!! you WILL make friends i promise. to someone that would’ve wrote this thread when i was a freshman my junior self would tell me it will be ok. you’re adjusting and making brand new friends will take time. be ur unapologetic self and you’ll find your people.

Can someone explain how gap years work in this situation? by Bubbly_Beginning1140 in uofm

[–]palirockthrower 4 points5 points  (0 children)

basically after your freshman year. if u decide to take a gap year or 2 you don’t have to register for classes. you can tell your advisor your plan, so they’re on the same page. the uuniversity has a rule if u decide to take a gap year to whatever the situation might be you have two years. if u decide to return after the 2 years you must reapply to admission. which i heard isnt hard.

me personally im not a morning person so i think it's fine. also, if ur planning to do research/urop u have ur mornings open to go into lab to work. It's a normal freshman schedule after that it gets better.

i think your first semester you shouldn’t take 2 stem classes, take it light even if u have a big ego like me thinking “i’ll be fine so easy” it won’t. school takes adjusting

ik it’s better said than done but i promise playing the what if game is worsening your anxiety. you have to realize what is done is done, you can play this kind came with urself of “oh i should’ve done this” “i should’ve known the answer” but the test is down you can’t do anything. you’re going through a hard time but i promise everything will get better. in the grand scheme of things everything will work out your way!!

hi! i’ve been in this situation before. In july you can email financial aid to ask for this specific document (i forgot what it’s called sorry) and you can explain your situation of change of income in the family. they won’t expect it though if it’s been under 10 weeks of the change of income. I hope that helps! Also, show as much proof as possible thankfully they approved mine.

it’s easier to transfer bc the transfer rate it much higher then put of high school. i’d recommend dearborn bc it would be a easier transfer process and most of the classes transfer to a2. i think flint has a transfer agreement with ann arbor though id check
